Life Enrichment Team

Support for residents with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia differ between memory care facilities. Every Sunrise community has its own Life Enrichment Managers (LEMs) who work within our Reminiscence Neighborhoods. Unique to other memory care facilities, Sunrise Reminiscence Neighborhoods are specially designed environments to increase the quality of life for residents with memory loss. The LEMs provide the attention and encouragement every resident needs to remain involved in daily activities and give them the value and purpose they deserve. Every LEM is specially trained to enhance procedural and implicit memories by understanding the individuals' abilities and interests. Meet some members of the Sunrise team and read why they are passionate about what they do:

I truly enjoy seeing the residents succeed in activities, and renew their hope, importance and purpose in life. There is a mutual sense of friendship, trust, learning and a closeness that develops from supporting them in their times of happiness and sadness.

I smile and say hello every morning to start the residents’ day and mine. A hug or a pat goes a long way. I love telling them stories about my life and listening to their stories.
