It’s important to recognize that taking a break from caregiving can be a positive step for both the caregiver and their loved one. Short-Term Stays are perfect when family caregivers are away on a vacation or business trip or just need a short break from caring for the senior in their life. Short-Term Stays are also an option for seniors who want the extra security of additional assistance during an illness or while recuperating. Many of our permanent residents decided to move in to a Sunrise community after experiencing life here during a Short-Term Stay.
The Benefits of a Break
Our Short-Term Stay residents are able to experience many of the benefits of a Sunrise community. This includes three delicious, well-balanced meals served daily in an elegant dining room, featuring a variety of menu choices, as well as snacks available throughout the day. They can also join in a range of social, educational, devotional and recreational programs, and scheduled group trips to local restaurants and stores. Their visits may coincide with monthly wellness visits by a licensed nurse, and they can take advantage (for an additional fee) of a beauty salon or barber shop. Dedicated, well-trained team members are available 24-hours a day to provide personal assistance with daily needs, which may include bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, assistance with eating, mobility, medication management and more.
