Welcome to our community! We're pleased to introduce you to some of the team members who make our community a wonderful place to call home.
“I have been with Sunrise of Baton Rouge for five years. Before that, I worked as the marketing director at another assisted living facility and at a rehab hospital.
My favorite part of my job is interacting with our residents. The people with whom I work each day makes Sunrise a great place to work.
In my spare time, I like to attend Louisiana State University sporting events and go to the beach.”
“Prior to joining the Sunrise team in May of 2016, I was a licensed practical nurse (LPN) for 32 years, working in various disciplines. I also have more than 15 years of management experience. Most recently, I taught medical terminology and anatomy full-time at a small medical college. I have experience in family practice, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, ENT, allergy, dermatology, urology, general surgery, OG/GYN and gastroenterology.
My favorite part of my job is caring for the residents and getting to know them personally. Taking the time to make their day better is important to me. Making our residents feel special and valued is the most important part of my job. The best part of Sunrise Senior Living is the people. I am honored to work where the team members take a personal interest and feel that our residents are family.
When I am not working or teaching, I make candles. I also have children and grandchildren with whom I spend a great deal of time. I love flea markets, cooking, baking and music.”
“Before joining the Sunrise of Baton Rouge Team nearly five years ago, I was the Assistant Director of Nursing at Sage Rehab Hospital, for home and telemetry nurses.
At Sunrise, there is a fun atmosphere. I love interacting with our residents and my fellow team members.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and watching sports, especially football.”
“I joined the Sunrise of Baton Rouge Team 13 years ago. My journey with Sunrise began as a Care Manager, and I later furthered my education and returned as the Wellness Nurse.
In my current position as the Reminiscence Coordinator, I am devoted to providing the highest level of ease and care to our residents and their families. At Sunrise, I am privileged to work alongside a dynamic team that embodies a true passion for the belief in the sacred value of human life.
Outside of work, I enjoy family gatherings, social entertainment, football, traveling and warm sunny days on any beach within or near the Bayou State.”
“Prior to joining the Sunrise team, I worked in hotels, country clubs and retirement communities.
I love the rewarding feeling I get by taking care of seniors who need help and appreciate your company. I love what I do!
Outside of work, I enjoy fishing and traveling to see new places.”
