I knew I wanted to help people. Nursing was a natural fit for me. I was a Home Health Care Nurse that worked in homes and other senior living communities I walked into Sunrise the first time and thought “Wow, somebody finally got this right!” This is the way senior living is supposed to be.
I did not choose Sunrise Senior Living, it chose me. After fighting myself for six months, Sunrise Senior Living gave me the opportunity to be a Care Manager and I am so dedicated to Sunrise Senior Living and their core values that now I am the Reminiscence Coordinator!
God put me here for a reason; this job became my duty to help others. The care I provide is a blessing. Sunrise has shown me how to care for someone with dignity and respect. We help fill in the missing link between family and care.
My Dad told me to do what I know. I know how to care for others and Sunrise Senior Living has given me the opportunity to care for others with dignity and respect.
I started with Sunrise as a dishwasher and I have now been promoted to Housekeeping Supervisor. Sunrise has taught me to give love everyday. My favorite part of my job is the residents. I love them. We are all one big happy family.
In the past I had only worked in hospitals and I applied at Sunrise because of the Sunrise Story that I read online. I love spending my day with the residents and I like going home knowing that I have helped someone. I started as a Care Manager and now my Sunrise journey has lead me to being a Certified Medication Technician.
