The Sunrise of Flossmoor team has been a pillar in the Homewood-Flossmoor area since 2000. We take an active role in our community, attend local churches and proudly wear our Sunrise name badges. Together, we have raised thousands of research dollars for the Alzheimer’s Association, host support groups focused on caregiver burnout and dementia support, and promote various charities that our residents participate in. We are very proud of our Sunrise family and look forward to meeting you!
“I have worked in the industry for 23 years, 22 of them being in independent living because I am passionate in making a difference in my residents’ lives by ensuring that they have the best care possible and opportunities to engage in activities and programming. Our residents have so much history to talk about in their lives, if we make sure to listen. Spending time with our residents shows them how much we value their presence every day.
I wanted to work with a national company that has the same beliefs that I hold for the seniors. I have always believed that everything we do should be in the best interests of our residents, ensuring that we are making their lives joyful and full of people that care about them.”
“Upon joining the Sunrise family, I came from a social services background and have always had the role of “the fixer” in both my professional and personal life. With over a decade of experience at Sunrise, I am blessed to have had the opportunity to make a difference in peoples’ lives every single day. I can’t imagine a better fit for me.
I began by working part-time in Human Resources a million years ago and it was love at first sight. Sunrise was my first experience in working with seniors. Our Flossmoor community has an excellent reputation as a leader in senior care within our area. I am very proud of that and grateful to have such a passionate and caring team!”
“I have been caring for seniors for almost 20 years and have loved every minute of it. I was raised in a very tight family that always respected and cherished their elders. I bring those same morals and values with me to work every day. I have made great friends at Sunrise and developed deep bonds with the residents and their families. It truly is a second family to me.
I wanted to work for an organization that I could be proud of. From the moment I walked in the door, I knew this was my new home. I have not been disappointed.”
“I truly enjoy all of our residents and want to share in their happiness at Sunrise. I know that for some of our residents it can almost seem as though time moves slowly, so any activity that I present is something that will hopefully make the time go faster. Just because our residents are seniors doesn’t mean that they don’t like to participate in meaningful activities, or learn new things. Bringing quality activities, programming and entertainment is my primary goal!
Sunrise’s Principles of Service are so important. Every team member at Sunrise lives by these principles and that is why I have been here for as long as I have.”
“I’ve always had a passion for caring for seniors. My grandfather had a little apartment on the second floor of the house I grew up in. I remember making little snacks and sharing a bottle of 7-up with him all the time. I think that has a lot to do with who I am today. It makes me feel great to know that I am a part of keeping our residents well-nourished and healthy. Seniors will also give you feedback immediately (good or bad), which makes it easier to quickly address any unique dietary needs or preferences. Meal times are the most important time of the day for our seniors and I try to make sure they feel at home and comfortable and as I possibly can at every meal.
Sunrise has always put residents first. They have a well thought-out sense of direction as a company and hire the best talent for their communities. The style of the community mansions make it feel as though you are serving a family all in one, big house which is kind of cool!”
