Meet the Sunrise of Frederick Team

Meet some of the fantastic members of our team here at Sunrise of Frederick, MD.

Brenda Waggoner | Executive Director

Brenda Waggoner

Executive Director

“I have worked with Sunrise for 18 years. I have served in multiple positions including Assisted Living Coordinator and Reminiscence Coordinator. I love that I have the ability to interact with our residents, family members and team members on a daily basis, and hopefully make a difference in their lives.

The best part of working at Sunrise is the ongoing commitment to our mission. That mission, and how it is fulfilled in our community every day, is what has kept me with Sunrise for so many years.

When I’m not working, my husband and I enjoy playing golf together. I am also an avid reader of mysteries.”

Director of Sales

“I have worked with Sunrise for nearly two years.  I have been in the assisted living industry for more than nine years in different roles such as direct care, medication technician and business office coordinator.

My favorite part of my job is meeting new people every day and bringing Sunrise to more families during their search for senior living options. I love greeting families at our front door, welcoming them into our community and discussing how living at Sunrise can make all the difference in one’s life. It’s nice to build relationships with prospective residents and families as they embark on their senior living journey.

At Sunrise, I am so closely connected to my team and our residents that we are all like family.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling.”

Beverly Baker | Resident Care Director

Beverly Baker

Resident Care Director

“I have worked at Sunrise since November of 2015 and I have 11 years of experience as a nurse. I am certified in gerontology, infection prevention and control in the long-term care setting, ACLS, BLS and hold the designation of Delegating Nurse Case Manager.

My favorite part of my job is spending time with my residents, getting to know them, having fun with them and helping them to take care of their health care needs. I have been blessed with a vast array of personalities that offer so many interesting insights. I am a very lucky woman to oversee the health care needs of such a diverse, interesting group of people.

The best part of working at Sunrise is the authenticity of the people I get to work with. Every person employed in our building is willing to do whatever it takes to make our residents happy. There's never a ‘that's not my job’ attitude.

It never seems like I have enough spare time, but when I do I like to spend it with my family. I have four boys (two in the Army and two at home), a husband of 23 years, an Australian Shepherd named Nelson, and two grandbabies with one on the way. I'm also very involved with my church. I have a very rich life to begin with but I can honestly say working at Sunrise makes it that much better.”

Jude Dike | Assisted Living Coordinator

Jude Dike

Assisted Living Coordinator

“I have been with Sunrise for more than six years. Prior to my current position, I worked as a care manager, and was then promoted to lead care manager/medication technician.

My favorite part of my job is listening to our residents and families, knowing full well that I am able to make a positive impact in their lives. I feel lucky that I get to work with a wonderful set of team members who go above and beyond to support one another.

In my spare time, I like to exercise or visit friends.”

Ali Hall | Reminiscence Coordinator

Ali Hall

Reminiscence Coordinator

“I’ve been with Sunrise for six years providing individualized care, medical attention and emotional support to residents. Additionally, I have more than 10 years of experience in health care and supervisory roles.

My favorite part of my job is bringing joy to our residents and advocating for their health. Any day that I can share in a good laugh or even shed a tear with our seniors is a successful day. Sunrise is a community filled with compassionate, caring workers. I love the enthusiasm and innovation that goes into nurturing and preserving the quality of life of all seniors.

Currently, my spare time is mostly filled with my newborn son and husband. In addition, I like to bike and hike, read, and relax with a puzzle and a glass of wine.”
