Our community is proud to have dining services coordinator, Duy (pronounced “Yee”), on the Dining team at Sunrise of Scottsdale. Starting at age 16, he found his love for cooking and went on to culinary school, followed by a career at a fine dining establishment in Phoenix before coming to Sunrise.
Duy’s favorite cuisines include Chinese American, Vietnamese and classic French. His favorite dish to serve our residents is his Pulled Pork with Coconut and Lime Sauce, a dish his mother used to make, which brings back many fond memories. Duy names black pepper as his favorite ingredient to work with, because it “gives meals an extra kick,” when needed.
He finds great satisfaction in hearing how much our residents and their families love a meal he put his heart and soul into. Duy understands every resident’s preferences are different –whether it’s a little more spice, or a little less salt – and is always happy to tailor seasonings on an individual basis.
