“It is an honor to serve as the Executive Director of Sunrise of West Hills and to work for a company whose main focus is on the needs and preferences of our residents. Our quality standards, resident-centered care, and activities filled with meaning and purpose align with my own beliefs of what is best for our seniors in assisted living.
"As a purveyor of the senior care industry for 31 years, I have had the privilege of belonging to the Sunrise Senior Living family since 2003. I am passionate about enhancing the quality of life for seniors and their families. I strive each day to find ways to continuously fulfill the special needs and requirements that are unique to the elderly.
My favorite part of my job is resolving families’ issues and being able to offer Sunrise as a solution."
"I love working at Sunrise of West Hills. I oversee the Assisted Living Department and manage the incredible care that our managers provide for our residents. Being the Assisted Living Coordinator gives me the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life every day.
My interactions with my residents and their family members make my position so rewarding. At night, I go home knowing that I made a difference for someone that day. When my residents smile, I smile."
"The Reminiscence Neighborhood at Sunrise of West Hills is a happy place. My favorite part of the day is when I get to spend one-on-one time with each resident during our walking club. We learn about one another and form a special relationship.
Families often reach out to me and my team regarding their loved ones and the challenges that they face with the progression of dementia. Our family members truly benefit from our monthly family support group and forming friendships with one another. Our residents’ loved ones become like a family to us. We laugh and cry and comfort one another. Sunrise of West Hills is one big extended family for me."
"I was born in Toronto, Canada, and studied gerontology in college. I have eagerly worked in the field of activation and recreation with the elderly population since graduating in 2001.
As soon as I walked through the front door of Sunrise of West Hills, I knew I wanted to be a part of this wonderful team. You can feel the staff’s love, warmth and devotion to their residents throughout the community. I look forward to coming to work every day and being surrounded by such a dedicated and passionate team."
