 Joe DeCola

“I started my career in September of 1990 at The Fairfax and was in the US Marine Corps for four years prior to working at our community.

At Sunrise, I get the chance to work with an amazing team and know that every day we make a difference in our residents’ lives.

My family and I are all outdoor people. In my spare time, we love dirt bike riding, fishing, camping, boating/waterskiing, skeet shooting and archery.”

“I have proudly worked at The Fairfax for 21 years! As a Director of Sales for Independent Living, I have had the honor of helping families navigate the various processes that may arise when selecting one’s next home.

It’s a pleasure working for such an extraordinary community! I am very grateful to have been afforded many opportunities for growth during my 21 years of service. The Fairfax feels like family. The residents are so friendly, and their smiles are infectious!

In my spare time, I enjoy my family, friends and two bulldogs, music, traveling, attending wine festivals and shopping.”

Alison Ross Tompkins

Alison Ross Tompkins

Director External Sales - Independent Living

“Prior to this job, I was a seniors real estate specialist, realtor and staging professional working with Long and Foster to relocate seniors from their homes of 20-40 years to retirement communities and assisted living communities.

In my role at Sunrise, I enjoy talking with seniors and getting to know them; I love hearing their stories. At The Fairfax, every day is different and you really don’t know what awaits you. I like being inside the office some days and I also enjoy being outside the office, creating partnerships and meeting new people. I enjoy the teamwork here at the Fairfax.

When I’m not at work, I like to bike, hike, play tennis, walk, travel, read and enjoy the outdoors. I love to do anything that involves my family and friends.”

“I began my career in senior living in March 2004. I joined the Recreation Team in 2005 and it was a perfect fit from day one. I love the daily interaction with residents, attending different types of trips and experiencing the fine entertainment provided each month. No day is the same.

Working alongside other dedicated Sunrise professionals makes The Fairfax a very special work place and the residents naturally thrive.

In my spare time, I love to go hiking and try out new recipes on friends!”

Lawrencia Quaye

Lawrencia Quaye
Executive Chef of Food & Beverage Department

“On August 3, 2016, I will have 26 years of service with Sunrise Senior Living. I appreciate that, each day, I have the opportunity to please our residents. It feels great when our residents tell me they are happy and enjoying their day. It truly makes a difference in both of our lives.

At Sunrise, my team focuses our daily decisions on helping to provide the very best resident-centered care and great food service. It’s always a pleasure coming to work because it makes me feel good that I’m able to provide a service to our residents.

In my spare time, I like to arrange flowers while singing or watch a good soap opera. I also love to watch Hell’s Kitchen.”

Cecille Stone

“I celebrated my 20-year anniversary with Sunrise in May of 2016. Prior to working with Sunrise, I worked in health care food services in both acute and long-term care. I really enjoy working with our residents and having the opportunity to make a positive impact in their lives.

The best park of working for Sunrise is that they offer you the flexibility and empowerment to get your job done.

In my spare time, I enjoy family life and going to the theater. I particularly enjoy smaller theaters because they offer the audience a more intimate interaction with the production.”

Monaliza Qualye

Monaliza Quaye

“I have served at The Fairfax for the past 11 years as a Care Manager. Three years ago, I was promoted to Lead Care Manager. I have more than 15 years of experience working with seniors with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

My favorite part of my job is providing the best possible care for our residents while supporting their families. I enjoy providing Sunrise training to our new team members and supporting my direct supervisor.

The best part of working for Sunrise is the opportunities for team members to enhance their career. Sunrise offers an enormous amount of training to help support us in caring and supporting our residents.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, relaxing and watching a movie.”

Patricia Garner

Patricia Garner

“For the past eight years, I have worked at The Fairfax in the roles of Assisted Living Coordinator, Reminiscence Coordinator and as the Resident Care Director. Prior to joining the team at Sunrise, I was the assistant director of nursing in a nursing home facility. I have been in management since 2000 and have provided hospital training for new employees on new and old equipment. I also worked in a residency program for seven years prior to working for Sunrise.

At Sunrise, I have the opportunity to make a difference in our residents’ lives, get to know and support their families, work alongside a great team under great leadership, and further my education through the employee tuition reimbursement program.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy attending church and spending time with my grandchildren, spouse and siblings. I enjoy reading, dancing and traveling.”
