There's nothing better than a cold cocktail during the dog days of summer, but you might be tired of the same old sangria or margarita. Enter the Cactus Berry Cocktail, a unique and refreshing drink that has a marvelous pink color and a delicious sweet taste. It may seem strange to mix tequila and red wine, but the flavor combination is sure to pop on your tongue and become a summer favorite.
The recipe below suggests pouring the drink into a salt-rimmed glass, but for a healthier version, you should skip the salt and go for fruit instead. Find a long skewer and make a stirrer for your cocktail out of a raspberry, blackberry, blueberry and strawberry kebab. When you finish the drink, you'll have a delicious fruit snack to munch on - a fun way to get a serving of nutrients. Bottoms up!
Cactus Berry Cocktail
1 1/4 oz tequila
1 1/4 oz red wine
1 oz triple sec
6 1/2 oz sweet and sour mix
1 splash lemon-lime soda
1 dash lime juice
Shake with ice and pour into large salt-rimmed cocktail or margarita glass.
