A 2015 Spring-Summer Sunrise Dining Update

 |  March 31, 2015

March 2015 Dear Residents & Families: It’s time to say goodbye to winter! We are ready for the transition to spring with our Sunrise spring/summer menu, available in communities soon.

The menu will feature seasonal produce, including strawberries, asparagus, corn, tomatoes, summer squash, peaches, and of course, warm weather favorites such as barbecued and grilled items. Some of the recipes we’re excited for you to enjoy are roasted corn and tomato salad, grilled summer squash and zucchini, peach cobbler, BBQ pulled pork and more!

In addition to these seasonal items, residents can also look forward to seeing more of their favorite home-style meals on the menu, such as meatloaf, spaghetti and meatballs, and roasted chicken. We’ve also added a different starter salad for lunch and dinner. Both of these changes are a direct result of the feedback we’ve received from you. Please continue to tell us your thoughts on what you like and what could be improved to make your dining experience at Sunrise even better.

A 2015 Sunrise Dining Update Spring-SummerWhile we spent time incorporating your valuable feedback, we also introduced a new initiative for our assisted living communities: regional menus posted on each community dining web page, which will complement the existing table menus in the dining room. These online menus display breakfast, lunch and dinner for each day and week. Website visitors can click into individual recipes and view the nutritional information of each item. There is also an option to filter menu selections by five different diet attributes: high calcium, high fiber, low fat, low sodium and vegetarian. Click here to view a sample menu and nutritional guidelines.

We’re excited about this new online feature, which offers our residents and families an opportunity to see the nutritional breakdown of each meal and help make informed decisions on what they or their loved one will eat.  At Sunrise, we are proud of the delicious, senior-friendly meals we serve to our residents and hope that you find it helpful to take a look at their nutritional content.

As always, it is truly a pleasure to serve you.  Our team is committed to ensuring you and your loved ones enjoy the very best (and nutritious!) dining experience. Please be sure to tell us what you think of our recent improvements!

Sincerely,

Tim Whelan
