Jennifer Bernardy

In celebration of National Nurses Week (May 6-12), we are honoring all of the exceptional nurses who serve within our Sunrise communities each day. Jennifer Bernardy was nominated by her peers to receive a blog spotlighting highlighting her excellence in nursing.

“I have rarely met a team member who invests so much of their heart and soul into their work. Sunrise is ingrained into the fiber of Jennifer’s being.”  - Megan Leith, Executive Director, Sunrise of Golden Valley, MN

Jennifer began her career with Sunrise 13 years ago when she was a student at a local college. She first served as a medication care manager and remained with Sunrise as she continued her education, later becoming a registered nurse and finally accepting the role as Resident Care Director at Sunrise of Golden Valley.

Jennifer is described by her team members as a nurse with a loving heart and a passion for seniors. Throughout the years, changes within the community have required Jennifer to remain nimble and adapt to new technology, techniques and team members. She navigates through adversity with a smile, and consistently pours her heart and soul into all of her work. Her personal connection with each resident is instantly apparent, and she brings so much to the table for her team and for every Sunrise family. Nurses like Jennifer are the foundation of Sunrise, and we are honoring her today for all she does every day. Thank you, Jennifer!

Join us in celebrating a nurse who has made a difference in your life this week. Share a photo or story about your favorite Sunrise nurse on Facebook or Twitter and use the hashtags #SunriseCares and #NursesWeek.
