Separate the egg whites from the yolks. In separate bowls, whip the whites with ½ cup sugar, and the yolks with ½ cup sugar until both light and airy. Combine the vanilla and the eggs in one bowl. Whisk the flour and baking powder into the egg mix. Put the mix in a greased baking pan (your choice), and bake in a preheated oven (325 F) for 30-40 minutes. Cool the cake, then cut into 2 to 3 layers. Whip the cream with the icing sugar until peaks form. Wash and cut the strawberries and layer the cake with whipped cream and strawberries. Save some cream to cover the cake, and decorate with fresh berries. Share with family and friends, and enjoy!
