"The residents at Brighton Gardens are a gift to me. It is a pleasure to give back to our seniors, and I am blessed to be able to listen to stories and experiences that span over a century. No day at Brighton Gardens is the same, but each day, I go home knowing that I made a difference in the lives of our residents. I wanted to work for a company that placed each resident’s well-being at the top of the priority list, and I found that at Sunrise!"
"I went to nursing school with the intention of joining the obstetrics field, but after my geriatric rotation, I realized that my true calling was to work with seniors. I enjoy learning from our residents each day and am happy to work for a community that individualizes their care."
"After experiencing long term care for my father, I made the decision to go back to school. I wanted to make a significant difference in the lives of seniors and their families. My residents have given me purpose, and it is my goal each day at Brighton Gardens to do the same for them."
“I started my Sunrise career at Sunrise of Decatur in Georgia. About a year ago, I was given the opportunity to transfer to Brighton Gardens of Charlotte and move closer to my family. My interest in senior care started when I took my certified nursing assistance class. I was assigned to a nursing home for my clinical rounds and spent the majority of my time working with memory care residents. This opened my eyes to the lack of understanding that other caregivers and even families have about the disease process and why their loved ones are behaving or reacting in certain ways. I made it my mission to learn as much as I can about the disease and help to educate others and advocate for seniors. I truly cannot see myself doing anything else in life. “
"As the Activities and Volunteer Coordinator, my favorite activities are any that make our residents smile. I enjoy being able to give back and plan activities that are meaningful to seniors with such different interests and backgrounds."
"“I am a behavioral health therapist with a background in musical theater. I was asked to perform in a senior living community and saw firsthand how music can directly impact seniors, specifically those with a dementia diagnosis. This experience inspired me to pursue a career in senior care and use my talents to improve the quality of life of seniors struggling from behaviors and loss of memory. I enjoy seeing joy being brought back to those I work with and love being able to learn from each of my residents with every interaction."
"“I have been a care manager for 35 years and have been blessed to be with Brighton Gardens of Charlotte for the last 5 years. I love working with a population that has so much to teach us and this is a job where truly no day is the same. In my role as lead care manager, I have been given the opportunity to set a care standard for my team and help to train and assist my team on a daily basis. I started my career when I was 18 years old and cannot image doing anything different.”
