Meet some of the members of our team here at Brighton Gardens of Middletown, NJ.

Christina Candido MorelliChristina Candido Morelli

Executive Director

"Though I have only been with Sunrise for a little over a year, it feels like so much longer (in a good way!). I came on board right before the COVID-19 pandemic and could not be prouder to work for such an incredible organization, especially after seeing firsthand how things were handled during such a difficult time. We truly are a family, with the wellbeing of our residents and team members being the top priority for all.

Prior to becoming an Executive Director, I first got into the field by volunteering abroad; I lived and worked in a live-in Alzheimer’s facility in Northern Italy. I am extremely passionate about senior living and ensuring our residents’ lives are filled with dignity, purpose, exceptional care, love, and fun! Spending time with them is hands down my favorite part of my job.

When not at work, I enjoy traveling, blogging, and spending time with my husband and our two dogs."

Amauris BustamanteAmauris Bustamante

Director of Sales

"I joined Sunrise 7 years ago as a Care Manager and worked my way up to Lead Care Manager, Med Tech, Supervisor, Assisted Living Coordinator, and now Director of Sales. I am very thankful to be part of the Brighton Gardens team and to have the opportunity to bring new residents in to experience the incredible quality of life here. We are a big family and we treat our residents as if they were our own parents/loved ones. My favorite thing about working for Sunrise is that it doesn’t matter your role, we’re all treated equally and part of a big family/team with common goals – to provide the best care and quality of life to our residents!"

Raquel CastanedaRaquel Castaneda

Resident Care Director

"I have had the honor of being with Sunrise since 2019 when I feel I truly found my calling as a nurse through working with the elderly. Prior to joining Brighton Gardens in Middletown, I worked primarily in acute care hospital settings with a focus on Neurology and Alzheimer’s. I have always been passionate about memory care starting at a young age while volunteering with multiple organizations including Meals on Wheels, therapeutic riding centers and even just going to work with my Grandmother doing home care. I love spending time with our residents and getting to know what makes them happy and gives them a sense of fulfillment and happiness in life.

When I’m not at work, I love being outdoors hiking with my dogs, kayaking, climbing and traveling."

Randiynn DaignaultRandilynn Daignault

Assisted Living Coordinator

"It has been my pleasure to be a part of the Brighton Gardens of Middletown team since 2007. My career at Sunrise began as a server in the Dietary Department. I then advanced my career by taking the Home Health Aid Course. Twelve years later, I accepted the position as the Assisted Living Coordinator, advancing my career.

My new position allows me to continue the interaction with the staff and residents on a daily basis. This career was meant for me because of the passion and love that I have in my heart for each and every resident; they are truly our family!"

Laura HalleLaura Halle

Reminiscence Coordinator

"I have had the privilege of working with Sunrise since February 2014. In my years with Sunrise, I have been able to work in many different roles before becoming the Reminiscence Coordinator here at Brighton Gardens of Middletown, such as Lead Care Manager, Med Tech, Activity Assistant, and Concierge, all of which I feel have given me such a better outlook on the company. I am passionate about working alongside the amazing, dedicated team here that I consider my second family. Each day we strive to ensure we are following Sunrise's Core Values and continuing to enrich our residents’ lives.

My favorite part about working for Sunrise is building relationships and memories with the residents’ loved ones, and of course the residents themselves. Being able to be part of all our Reminiscence residents’ journeys is something I will hold in my heart forever. I am dedicated to ensuring that my team and myself always come in with a smile on our faces and show constant love and compassion to each resident. I take such pride in the Reminiscence team we have here at Brighton Gardens and am honored to work beside them!

When I am not in the community, I like to spend quality time with my five amazing children and my family. I also like to go hiking, spend time with my girlfriends, go running, sit at the beach at night, and cook/bake!"

Christine FranklinChristine Franklin

Activities and Volunteer Coordinator

"I am new to Sunrise and am looking forward to cultivating and building new relationships within the community. I have heard such great things about this company and Brighton Gardens of Middletown itself!

I have 12+ years’ experience in healthcare, specifically in the Activities Department and have really learned so much throughout the years. The challenges, the fun, the smiles, the laughs and so much more have been my takeaway from working in this field. I cannot fully put into words how I feel about working in healthcare and with this population. It has been such a rewarding experience. I am a very goal-oriented person and am so grateful to have chosen this as a career path. Getting to know your residents is so important and that is why person-centered care is something I love to be a part of. Working together with those of the same interests allows us all to have a successful workplace and positive outcome for the residents!"

Peggy ScognamiglioPeggy Scognamiglio

Dining Services Coordinator

"I have been a member of the Brighton Gardens family for almost 3 years starting as a server and progressing to the Dining Serves Coordinator. Throughout my 20+ years of health care experience, I have held many positions from Activities Director to Assistant Administrator. Working with the Brighton Gardens family gives you a true sense of teamwork. A person can only hope for a job that when you wake up in the morning you love going there…and I have that!"

Kari McArtneyKari McArtney

Business Office Coordinator

"I started working at Sunrise Senior Living in 2005 and love my job! I enjoy talking with and getting to know our residents. Seeing a smile on a resident’s face is the best part of my job. When I am not at Sunrise, I am spending time with my 2 daughters and husband."

Terry team member profile

Terry Walby

Life Enrichment Manager

“I have been with Sunrise since 2009. Prior to working for Sunrise, I worked in preschools and ran a youth group. My prior experience taught me the art of patience and how to explain things more clearly and concisely. These skills help me in my day-to-day interactions with Alzheimer’s and dementia residents.

My favorite part of my job is working closely with the residents and building meaningful relationships with each Reminiscence resident. Although the residents’ memories are not perfectly clear, I enjoy joining their journey. By listening to stories from their past and dreams for their future, I am able to provide our residents with meaningful days.”

Odette BaileyOdette Bailey

Assistant Activities and Volunteer Coordinator

"I have worked with Sunrise Senior Living for the past 21 years, with a brief stint in home care for 7 months in 2019. I decided to try home care but found it very boring and unfulfilling in comparison to my work at Brighton Gardens, so I came back and was welcomed with open arms.

Upon my return, I was asked to help with Activities and have been part of this department ever since. I also help out in Dietary. In my 21 years, I have worked as an Assisted Living Lead Care Manager, Med Tech, Activity Assistant, and Server. With this wealth of experience, I am able to communicate and empathize with my residents as I interact with them. Just putting a smile on their faces makes me feel as if we made their day. Being with my residents every day has taught me loads of patience. I’m glad to be a part of the Activity team!"

Joan team member profile

Joan Mustilli

Lead Concierge

“I have been a member of the Brighton Gardens of Middletown team since 1998. Working with people and caring for them fulfills me. Prior to Sunrise, I worked as the office manager for a pain management doctor. This job helped me develop the skills that I use every day at Sunrise.

I love to make the residents smile each day. I like to make sure they have their independence, dignity, and feel loved and needed every day. I enjoy seeing the friendships that form between the residents (and sometimes a romance or a rekindled love from long ago). It is heartwarming when a married couple moves into Brighton Gardens; their love and devotion for each other is a beautiful thing to see.

The best part of working for Sunrise is being part of a professional and caring team. Every day our team goes above and beyond for our residents and their fellow team members.”

Mike AdubatoMike Adubato

Maintenance Coordinator

"I have worked as the Maintenance Coordinator at Brighton Gardens for the past 5 years. It’s my first role in the senior living industry and I absolutely love it! The best part is learning about what our residents have done in their younger days – business, war, children, accomplishments, etc.

When I’m not maintaining the community or BBQing for residents, or driving them to Atlantic City, or calling Bingo, or running poker games, I enjoy the outdoors (fishing, boating, camping, and hunting). I also enjoy spending time with my wife and two adult children."
