Assisted Living Coordinator
“I have worked for Sunrise since 2012. I started out at Sunrise as a Reminiscence designated care manager, which led me to the role of lead care manager in assisted living. I also had the opportunity to serve as a medication care manager. Wanting to further my experience within Sunrise, I accepted a stretch assignment in Middletown as the Assisted Living Coordinator, where I am grateful to have remained.
There are so many rewarding parts to my position here at Brighton Gardens. First and foremost, I work with a team of people whom I consider to be my family. Together, we are able to provide our residents with a home away from home where they will be loved and cared for as if they were our own parents or grandparents. We are also able to provide families with peace of mind and resources to ensure a smooth transition to Brighton Gardens.
The best part about working at Brighton Gardens of Middletown is being able to interact with families and residents on both a professional and social level. Joining together to celebrate with families and residents provides us the opportunity to come together, celebrate life and create memories.”

“I have been with Sunrise since 2009. Prior to working for Sunrise, I worked in preschools and ran a youth group. My prior experience taught me the art of patience and how to explain things more clearly and concisely. These skills help me in my day-to-day interactions with Alzheimer’s and dementia residents.
My favorite part of my job is working closely with the residents and building meaningful relationships with each Reminiscence resident. Although the residents’ memories are not perfectly clear, I enjoy joining their journey. By listening to stories from their past and dreams for their future, I am able to provide our residents with meaningful days.”

“I have been a member of the Brighton Gardens of Middletown team since 1998. Working with people and caring for them fulfills me. Prior to Sunrise, I worked as the office manager for a pain management doctor. This job helped me develop the skills that I use every day at Sunrise.
I love to make the residents smile each day. I like to make sure they have their independence, dignity, and feel loved and needed every day. I enjoy seeing the friendships that form between the residents (and sometimes a romance or a rekindled love from long ago). It is heartwarming when a married couple moves into Brighton Gardens; their love and devotion for each other is a beautiful thing to see.
