Since 1998, Brighton Gardens of Northville, MI, has continued the more than 30 year tradition of providing the highest quality resident-centered care. Backed by the experience of our Brighton Gardens leadership team, residents of our larger community enjoy the warmth and hospitality of a place they are proud to call home!
"I earned my Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Toledo. I have been working in long term care for the past 20 years. Initially as a social worker in long term care, until I became an executive director in 2008. I have worked in skilled nursing as well as assisted living and memory care.
I have 3 children- Courtney, Seamus and Keira, a son in law- Jeremy, 2 dogs, Molly and Hadley and 2 grandchildren, Aiden and Blake and 2 grand-dogs, Drogo and Freya. Previously, in a senior leadership role, I spent most of my time traveling to different areas and away from home.
While I enjoyed training and helping in a variety of places, I missed my family and the day to day connections that came from being in one community. I wanted a place that felt like home, and I have found that at Brighton Gardens. I am so happy to be here!"
"I have worked at Sunrise since September 2019 and I have been in the Senior Living Industry for over 3 years. I also owned a catering business for 20 years and I enjoyed cooking for my senior customers!
My favorite part of my job is getting to know all the residents and their families. They have amazing stories to tell and have done unbelievable things and have so much to share. I love the feeling of moving a new resident in and knowing that they are going to be taken care of and be a part of a community.
The best part of working at Sunrise is the sense of team we all have. Everyone jumps in to help in all departments and I think that just really benefits the residents. I also really like all the training I am getting. I know that I am well prepared to do my job every single day.
In my spare time I love to spend it with my daughters. They grew up way too fast and I’m trying to enjoy every minute with them. I also adopt senior dogs and dogs on hospice. I make a bucket list for them and we try and check all the boxes!"
"I have been in nursing for 26 years and have enjoyed working in various health care settings including rehabilitation and nursing education. I oversee the Wellness Department and staff which includes the nurses and the medication care managers. I have been with Sunrise for one year and appreciate the breadth of expertise and commitment to the health of well-being of our residents Sunrise provides.
I cherish the relationships I have forged with the residents and their families (which is my favorite part of my job) and relish any time I can sit and visit with the residents. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband, son, and two Golden Retrievers who love to come and visit with the residents any chance they get."
"Building relationships with residents during activity sessions bring joy to me every day. The best part of working at Sunrise is the opportunity to learn and grow, through interacting with the residents. There are so many good stories and life experiences that I have learned from in the time that I have been here. The residents continue to make me a better person.
In my spare time, I love to camp, kayak and enjoy the outdoors. One of my goals is to visit every National Park in America."
"My name is Dorothy Harold, most call me Dotty. I was first hired by Sunrise in 2007 as the Housekeeping Coordinator. It is a joy to be back under the Sunrise umbrella. I have worked within this industry for the past eleven years as a Director of Assisted Living. Having an opportunity to lead, coach and educate my care managers, assisting with care as needed; making a difference in the senior’s lives; while providing support to the families of every resident. I enjoy reading, furthering my education; remaining current on the changes within this industry. Spending quality time with my husband Michael, my puppy Mocha, traveling to visit family and friends."
"I have worked in this field for 22 years. I have been with Sunrise since June 15, 2020 but I worked for this company prior for about 5 years. I am committed to maintaining the highest standard of care for our residents. I consider myself fortunate to have been given this opportunity to take charge of this program. This offers me new and exciting challenges, all of which I am looking forward to. My passion for seniors and learning more about cognitive diseases continues to grow.
My main goal every day is to let our residents and their families know how much they’re loved, and to help provide them with the quality of care and life they deserve! I love working for this company because we hold ourselves to a high standard. Sunrise is passionate about doing the right thing for the resident we house. In my spare time I like to binge watch Netflix, cook, and socialize with friends."
"I was previously with Sunrise from 2000 until 2012. I returned in 2019 as the Business Office Coordinator.
My favorite part of my job is building relationships with families, residents and team members.
When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and hunting a great shoe sale!"
"Prior to joining Sunrise, I worked in other senior communities where I held the position of Dietary Director as well as Chef.
My favorite part of working at Sunrise is the level of training that is being displayed, which lets me know there is room for advancement within this great company.
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my kids, cooking and watching some of my favorite T.V. shows."
"My experience ranges from machinist to mobile service mechanics. The thing I enjoy most about my job is making a difference in resident's lives. Helping with the big and small things make their day. In my spare time, I enjoy watching sports and movies, and spending time outside. I also enjoy working on cars."
As a senior dog myself, I enjoy naps on the couch, slow walks outside, greeting everyone who walks thru the door and supervising bingo during game time.
I love playing fetch and giving kisses to the residents. Especially when they give me treats! I put a smile on everyone's faces when they see me!
Sitting on residents laps and cuddling them while they watch T.V.
I'm super shy and like to hide under pillows. Sometimes I'll come out and play with my sister Minnie.
