Since 1998, Brighton Gardens of Northville, MI, has continued the more than 30 year tradition of providing the highest quality resident-centered care. Backed by the experience of our Brighton Gardens leadership team, residents of our larger community enjoy the warmth and hospitality of a place they are proud to call home!
Mazie came to Sunrise in 2007 with more than 20 years of healthcare administration experience. As executive director, Mazie has demonstrated her skills in both operations and care management by overseeing the active days here at Brighton Gardens. With more than 100 residents, their families and friends, she has proven to be a problem solver and a compassionate listener to those in need.
Mazie is the mother of four active, sports-minded children. In her free time, she coaches sports and attends many games. Mazie received her degree from Madonna University where she was awarded a scholarship in volleyball.
Maria joined the Brighton Gardens of Northville team in 2004. As a care manager, she consistently exhibited her devotion to our residents. She soon became a lead care manager and helped other team members appreciate the importance of this position. Within time, Maria was promoted to her current position of reminiscence coordinator. Her neighborhood is a nurturing, stimulating environment for our residents with memory loss. They experience the joy of living every day with activities such as gardening, music therapy, exercising and outings.
Maria played professional volleyball in her native homeland of Romania. She is the mother of two adult sons, who live in Romania today.
Julia is a 2017 graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a bachelor degree in therapeutic recreation and is accredited as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Julia joined the Sunrise Senior Living family soon after graduation as a Life Enrichment Manager in our Sunrise of Bloomfield community. Her job included group activities, “one to ones” and going on community outings.
In June 2018 Brighton Gardens was fortunate to welcome Julia as our Activity and Volunteer Coordinator. Julia’s favorite part of her day is spending time with our residents to help bring a smile to their faces.
“The moment I started to work here I felt like I have a second family. I love working with our residents and providing quality of life with enriching activities.”
In her spare time, Julia likes to ride her bicycle, walk her dog, read, paint, crochet, travel and hang out with her three sisters.
In 2003, Kattie Washburn-LaRose began her career at Sunrise Senior Living as a care manager for Sunrise of Farmington Hills. In 2006, she was promoted to activity/volunteer coordinator and enjoyed spending time with her residents, planning activities and outings they were accustomed to as well as introducing them to new adventures. She moved on to a care coordinator position in 2012 overseeing the care and welfare of more than 75 residents.
In 2016, Brighton Gardens of Northville had the great opportunity to offer Kattie a position in our community where she continues to share her experience, energy and caring spirit with our residents, their families and Brighton Garden team mates.
When she is not at work, Kattie enjoys spending time with her two sons, Luke, 15, and Caleb, 13, who keep her VERY busy being a mom.
