Dana began her career in senior living in 2013 as an Executive Director in Las Vegas and then in California. She has since returned to Michigan to be closer to her two sons and family and to join the Brighton Gardens family. Dana is a graduate from U of M with a B.S. in Health education and a minor in gerontology.
In her free time, Dana enjoys reading, listening to live music, and watching sports, such as football and hockey.
Mazie came to Sunrise in 2007 with more than 20 years of healthcare administration experience. As executive director, Mazie has demonstrated her skills in both operations and care management by overseeing the active days here at Brighton Gardens. With more than 100 residents, their families and friends, she has proven to be a problem solver and a compassionate listener to those in need.
Mazie is the mother of four active, sports-minded children. In her free time, she coaches sports and attends many games. Mazie received her degree from Madonna University where she was awarded a scholarship in volleyball.
Patty began her career with Brighton Gardens of Northville in 2003 as a concierge. She fell in love with the senior care industry and realized she had found her calling. Sunrise quickly promoted Patty to a sales position. Patty is the usually the first contact families have with Brighton Gardens. Her sincere desire to help these families is evident. Patty’s compassion and empathy makes new faces comfortable immediately. She is very proud of Brighton Gardens and all it has to offer in assisted living.
Also, Patty is eager to share that she chose Brighton Gardens as a home for her own mother. Patty has degrees in communications and psychology. Prior to Sunrise, she worked in the advertising industry.
Maria joined the Brighton Gardens of Northville team in 2004. As a care manager, she consistently exhibited her devotion to our residents. She soon became a lead care manager and helped other team members appreciate the importance of this position. Within time, Maria was promoted to her current position of reminiscence coordinator. Her neighborhood is a nurturing, stimulating environment for our residents with memory loss. They experience the joy of living every day with activities such as gardening, music therapy, exercising and outings.
Maria played professional volleyball in her native homeland of Romania. She is the mother of two adult sons, who live in Romania today.
Sarah joined our Brighton Gardens of Northville team in 2005. She has held four positions during her time at Brighton Gardens, beginning her career as a care manager. She then became a medication technician, and subsequently spent time in our marketing group before accepting her current position as the activities and volunteer coordinator. Sarah spends her days planning activities that our residents truly enjoy. Art classes, exercise groups and music appreciation classes are just a few of our in-house activities. Museum visits, boat rides and trips to the movie theater are some of our outside activities. Sarah is committed to enriching our residents’ lives.
Sarah earned her degree in healthcare administration.
In 2003, Kattie Washburn-LaRose began her career at Sunrise Senior Living as a care manager for Sunrise of Farmington Hills. In 2006, she was promoted to activity/volunteer coordinator and enjoyed spending time with her residents, planning activities and outings they were accustomed to as well as introducing them to new adventures. She moved on to a care coordinator position in 2012 overseeing the care and welfare of more than 75 residents.
In 2016, Brighton Gardens of Northville had the great opportunity to offer Kattie a position in our community where she continues to share her experience, energy and caring spirit with our residents, their families and Brighton Garden team mates.
When she is not at work, Kattie enjoys spending time with her two sons, Luke, 15, and Caleb, 13, who keep her VERY busy being a mom.
John began his career with Sunrise of Troy in May of 2008 and was promoted to run the kitchen at Brighton Gardens of Northville in August of 2016.
After attending culinary school, John trained under the executive chef at the Detroit Athletic Club. Gaining experience in restaurants and clubs, John sought to further his career somewhere with a more personal touch; he found that at Sunrise. John has made it his mission to give residents and their families a wonderful dining experience, filled with healthy and nutritious meals.
As a father of two boys, John spends his most of his free time with them. He also enjoys hiking and yoga.
Scott served in senior living communities and skilled nursing facilities for more than 15 years prior to joining Sunrise. He joined the Brighton Gardens of Northville team in 2016 as our maintenance coordinator.
Scott is the father of a grown son. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, hunting, and working on cars.
Sheila’s career with Sunrise began in 2009 as the Business Office Coordinator at another Sunrise location. She recently joined our Brighton Gardens team in the same capacity.
Sheila and her husband Jason of 16 years are the proud parents of two twin, 9 year old daughters, Shay and Jayla. Sheila is also grandmother to two step-grandsons, Colton and Levy, who reside in Colorado.
Sheila enjoys being active by swimming, rollerblading, walking and just being part of the outdoors. She is currently enrolled in martial arts and has achieved her green/black belt in karate. Along with all her current activities, Sheila just began taking weaponry and is committed to obtain her black belt in 2021.
