"My family says that I have been a caregiver from the moment my first brother was born – and I have assumed the responsibility of the care of others ever since. After years in the hotel and restaurant world, I assumed a leadership role of my first senior living community in Exeter, NH, in 1994. But for a couple years of restaurant ownership and college administration work, I have been in Senior Living ever since. I joined the Brighton Gardens team in early 2018, and have enjoyed engaging with residents, families, and team members every day! I am passionate about our Sunrise Principles Of Service that guide our delivery of care to our residents.”

“I first started as a volunteer at Brighton Gardens back in 2007.  I had the pleasure of being in that role for 2 years: little did I know it would draw me back years later!
I love meeting with families and hearing their stories. Working at Brighton Gardens of Raleigh allows me the pleasure of meeting with residents and families who are looking into next steps. 

I believe it is my responsibility to help educate people on available options to ensure their needs are met—both in the short- and long-term.
I am so proud to tell people about Sunrise and share the benefits of living in one of our communities, specifically about our care continuum, team members, and wonderful residents. In many ways, Sunrise sells itself when someone visits.

In my spare time, I love to travel, find new restaurants and spend time with family and friends.”

I began working as the Dining Services Director five years ago, and brought with me 13 years of culinary experience in healthcare.  Sunrise’s signature menu provides our residents with a variety of choices, and I enjoy the opportunity to involve the residents in our dining program as much as possible.

I cherish interacting with our residents and team members every single day, and working for Sunrise Senior Living has given me a passion beyond the work place.  I am truly grateful for the time I have been part of this incredible community and look forward to the future."

Activities and Volunteer Coordinator 

"I am a board certified music therapist and certified yoga instructor, graduate of Appalachian State University. As a music therapist, I have worked with people of many abilities and ages, but ultimately found that long term care is where I belong. I have had the privilege of working with older adults for the past 5 years, 3 of which as an activity director at a skilled nursing facility. I strive to create meaningful programs that are fun, interesting, and novel. I absolutely love being an activity director, and value every minute I get to spend with the residents!"

“My passion for senior care has been a driving force in how my career has developed. I started in Recreational Therapy at Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital, and Moses Cone Behavioral Health Center. After discovering my niche I invested more than 5 years coordinating services as a case manager for seniors across Wake County. During those years, I conducted numerous care plan meetings and found that families seemed to stream toward Sunrise Senior Living communities. 

In 2017 I was pleased to know, that after obtaining my M.B.A with an emphasis in healthcare, Brighton Gardens offered me the opportunity to be a part of such a loving place. Now managing 90 residents and 50 plus care staff, I can truly say I am forever grateful to serve and lead the residents and staff at Brighton Gardens of Raleigh.”

“Being a nurse has been one of the biggest blessings of my life. I find such joy in helping others and am lucky enough to have made it my career. After working for Sunrise about five years ago, I spent a few years delivering sweet babies in a high risk labor and delivery unit, and have made my way right back to Sunrise! I am passionate about caring for our senior population and believe in the mission of Sunrise Senior Living! I work in a collaborative approach with my peers to provide the best possible care to your loved ones. I am proud to be a part of this team and continue to strive to champion the life of our seniors each and every day."

“I first joined Sunrise Senior Living as an Assisted Living Coordinator in NY, but after realizing that North Carolina is where my husband and I wanted to build our home, I joined the Brighton Gardens team as the Reminiscence Coordinator. I found my true calling (the senior living industry) after obtaining my MD-MPH from Chicago. I realized that in this industry that, not only can I utilize my experience gained through my education, but I can also lend my leadership, passion, and perseverance to ensure that we give back to a generation that has helped shape this wonderful nation. Each day brings its own unique challenges, and I truly cherish each and every moment at Brighton Gardens. My favorite thing to do in my spare time is to spend the day with my best friend (also known as my husband).”

“Six years ago, I began my career with Sunrise as a Recreational Therapy Intern, and have moved up through the company as Activities Assistant, Activities Coordinator, Terrace Club Coordinator, Assisted Living Coordinator and now as Business Office Coordinator. Throughout my entire professional career, one constant is my love of working with seniors and sharing my passion for their care, well-being and happiness with those around me.

I firmly believe in Sunrise’s mission to provide the highest quality of care, the most well-trained team members, and a safe environment for our residents. I look forward to the future and my continued growth and development with Sunrise.”
