“Growing up, my family would visit my great-grandmother at her nursing home. I would take all my stuffed animals with me and walk around visiting the residents. Those visits led me to pursue a degree in Therapeutic Recreation with a specialty in Geriatrics from UNC-Wilmington. When my family moved my grandmother to Brighton Gardens of Raleigh, the transition was made so much easier because of the kindhearted Director of Sales. At the time, I commented to my dad that I’d love to help families in that way. The Director of Sales position soon opened up and I have been fortunate to work for Sunrise since 2003.
It’s easy to come to work each day for a company that truly puts the residents first and lives out their mission on a daily basis: to champion the quality of life for all seniors.. There is no greater peace than knowing your loved one is in a safe, secure and nurturing environment. I love that I can be a part of that.”
“As the Business Manager at Brighton Gardens of Raleigh, I interact with team members, vendors, regional management, family members and, most importantly, residents, on a daily basis. Being a resource and providing assistance to others brings me great personal and professional satisfaction. I’ve worked in several communities during my eight years with Sunrise, and consistently see the passion for seniors and joy in service our company promotes and exemplifies.
“I began working as the Dining Services Director five years ago, and brought with me 13 years of culinary experience in healthcare. Sunrise’s signature menu provides our residents with a variety of choices, and I enjoy the opportunity to involve the residents in our dining program as much as possible.

“After obtaining my Bachelor’s degree in Gerontology, I began my career with Sunrise as a Care Manager and have served in various roles during the past five years. I have a niche for working with memory-impaired seniors and love creating moments of joy.
Making sure that our residents are receiving high-quality care and stimulating engagement is my top priority. I am passionate about training others and seeing successful results when providing care and activities to our residents. ‘Ah-ha’ moments are the best!”
