"Words can't even begin to express my gratitude for all that Sunrise/Brighton Gardens of St. Charles did to care for my husband, Dave, during my absence. As most of you were aware -- I had to travel to San Diego to attend our son's wedding. That was a very bittersweet and emotional experience for me. Dave has always loved his sons and still cares about them greatly,. He has loved traveling to San Diego to visit our youngest son and can at times, remember past trips vividly. Knowing that I could no longer have him travel with me was a grueling dilemma for me to navigate. Many of the staff helped me with this decision and helping me determinate how/when to tell Dave of my absence, without lying to him. I knew that I was only protecting his well-being and was also hopping to help caregivers navigate the situation in my absence. Everyone was 100++% helpful, and I know that during my absence, he was well cared for and his best interests were always first and foremost in everyone's minds! That was such a source of peace for me that every time I thought about it -- I considered how fortunate I was to have found such a loving 'home' for Dave where is so very well cared for. While I missed having him by my side throughout the wedding and festivities, I knew it was something that needed  to be done! I included some his humor in my toast to the new couple! The professionalism and tender loving care demonstrated by all caregivers and personnel whom I have met has been remarkable.
