We are excited to introduce you to some of the talented individuals who make up the Brighton Gardens of Washington Township, Ohio, team. Nineteen of our team members have been with our community for more than a decade, and our Reminiscence memory care team alone has a combined tenure of more than 142 years. Our experienced team is proud to provide the Dayton community with top quality assisted living and memory care.
“I have been a registered nurse for over 23 years and was a nursing home administrator for over 11 years. My passion has always been caring for seniors, since I was a little girl taking care of my papa. I feel so honored to be able to care of seniors at Sunrise and be a part of the Sunrise family.
I love spending time with my three wonderful sons, beautiful granddaughter and my two fur babies. I enjoy reading, nature walks and beach vacations.”
“My grandfather lived at a Sunrise community years ago, and at the time I told my family, ‘This is where I want to live when I need assisted living!' When a nearby Sunrise community had an opening in the sales and marketing department, I jumped at the chance to work here.
I am so proud of the personalized service we provide, as well as our long-tenured care team. I genuinely enjoy meeting new families and helping them learn about everything that Sunrise has to offer their loved ones. My associate, Sharon Hammond, and I will be with you every step of the way and we can be a resource for whatever you might need. We work hard to make the transition to senior living as seamless as possible!”
“Since I was a small child I have loved the senior citizen population. I was drawn to seniors and made friends with several. When I was nine years old, I became friends with Loretta from the local senior citizens group. Loretta taught me how to sew, crochet, pick blackberries, make pies and skip rocks at the river, but most of all she taught me that she had so much love, fun, experience and wisdom to share. I have been in love with seniors ever since. Since becoming a nurse I have had many types of roles. However, the most rewarding has been with older adults and I love listening to their stories as they have many to share. When life gets busy and I slow down and look at life through the lens of a senior I am time and time again reminded of the true meaning of life which is to love above all else.
My life’s purpose has been to serve others and I have been blessed with an amazing husband and eight wonderful children that range from teenagers to young adults. I am proud to say that I have passed on my passion and love for senior citizens to my family. When I am not at work I enjoy family time, my children’s sporting events, being outdoors, the beach and gardening.
Since becoming the resident care director of Brighton Gardens of Washington Township, I have developed friendships with our residents and I truly feel like they are my family. I am humbled by the trust that Sunrise, my residents and their families have placed in me. I look forward to many rewarding years of serving Sunrise, spending time with my coworkers, and most of all learning from the residents and families who give meaning to my work.”
I have cared for my grandmother who has Alzheimer’s dementia, so I know first-hand how this disease can affect any family. My favorite thing about working with the residents in our Reminiscence Neighborhood is that each day is a brand new beginning.
