Meet the Brighton Gardens of Washington Township Team

Meet the talented team here at Brighton Gardens of Washington Township, Ohio.

Darrell Woods

Executive Director

“I have been the Executive Director at Brighton Gardens of Washington Township since 2011, and have been serving seniors as a long-term care executive since 1997.

After retiring from the Air Force, I was looking for a second career that offered the ‘second paycheck’ that I was used to in the military - the one that comes from ‘service before self.’  I found it in senior health services, and believe Sunrise Senior Living does it better than anyone.  I am proud to part of the Sunrise team!”

Jeni Messer

Director of Sales

“My grandfather lived at a Sunrise community years ago, and at the time I told my family, ‘This is where I want to live when I need assisted living!' When a nearby Sunrise community had an opening in the sales and marketing department, I jumped at the chance to work here.

I am so proud of the personalized service we provide, as well as our long-tenured care team.  I genuinely enjoy meeting new families and helping them learn about everything that Sunrise has to offer their loved ones.  My associate, Sharon Hammond, and I will be with you every step of the way and we can be a resource for whatever you might need. We work hard to make the transition to senior living as seamless as possible!”

Ginger Willis

Resident Care Director

“I am a registered nurse with nearly 20 years of experience in geriatric and dementia nursing.  I have been with Sunrise since July 2013, and am the Resident Care Director at our community in Washington Township, Ohio.  My favorite part of the job is, of course, the residents.  I love to be there to help them clinically when they may not be able to tell us what they need.

In my spare time, I enjoy going to my children’s sporting activities and reading.”

Charity Paynter

Reminiscence Coordinator

“I have worked for Sunrise Senior Living for more than 10 years.  I served as a Designated Care Manager and a Lead Care Manager for 10 years, and was recently promoted to the Reminiscence Coordinator position.

I have cared for my grandmother who has Alzheimer’s dementia, so I know first-hand how this disease can affect any family.  My favorite thing about working with the residents in our Reminiscence Neighborhood is that each day is a brand new beginning.

My husband and I have two girls and one boy, and we love going to Florida and spending time with our family.”

Dylan Goetze

Assisted Living Supervisor

“I have been with the Brighton Gardens of Washington Township team since July of 2008, when I started as a Designated Care Manager at age 18.  After a few years (and an Employee of the Year award), I was promoted to Lead Care Manager.  After four years in that position (and another Employee of the Year award), I decided I could better serve my residents as the Assisted Living Supervisor.

I can’t call this a job, because if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life!  My favorite part of my role is interacting with our residents; each person is unique and has so many wonderful life lessons to share.

Another great part of working at Sunrise is the feeling that what we do for our residents truly makes a difference. This is my ‘second paycheck.’

In my spare time, you can usually find me rescuing animals with my three children and lovely fiancé.  I also enjoy building computers and polishing my collection of Star Wars memorabilia.”
