regina laneRegina Lane, RN

Resident Care Director

"I am originally from Mt. Airy, NC but I grew up in Queretaro Mexico and Cochabamba Bolivia. When I was 14 years old, my grandfather had a heart attack and if it had not been for the quick response/care he received from the nurses in the ER he would not have survived. That day is when nurses became heroes to me, and I knew I wanted to be a nurse. My nursing experience includes Coronary Care Unit, Home Health, Hospice and Long Term Care. I loved each of my previous nursing roles, but my favorite role has been RCD here at Brighton Gardens. I believe in our mission statement, “To Champion quality of life for all seniors” and I know we do that every day. I love what I do and feel like this is where I belong. I am thankful to be part of such a wonderful team."

claire winfreyClaire Winfrey

Reminiscence Coordinator

"I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree from Barton College with a concentration in Gerontology. In 2010 I started my career with Sunrise in the Raleigh area. I worked as a care manager and activity assistant learning the Sunrise Way of providing care and services for our seniors. Through the years I have gained more insight, knowledge, and passion for taking care of our residents with dementia. In 2013 I was promoted to Reminiscence Coordinator and started managing the overall operations of the memory care neighborhood. Over time I have acquired the abilities to support other memory care neighborhoods when in need, I am a Certified Validation Worker, I am a Support Group Facilitator, I am a job coach and subject matter expert teaching new Reminiscence Coordinators their new role, I teach and train all new staff about memory care, I am a Laughter Yoga Leader, and continue to enhance my knowledge and training any chance I get. I love teaching others about dementia care and familiarizing others with the best personalized approaches for our residents."

joy porterJoy Porter

Assisted Living Coordinator

Joy Porter joined Brighton Gardens of Winston Salem in October 2018. Her passion for senior living started at a very young age when she would volunteer at a nursing home her mother was employed at as a cosmetologist.

Her favorite Principle of Service is Nurturing the Spirit. We care for the whole person: mind, body and spirit. Joy truly enjoys seeing such pride on the residents faces when she is able to listen and connect with them on a deeper level. Building relationships with the residents who have so much history and knowledge gives Joy joy in service, one of the core values of Sunrise. Joy enjoys coming to work each day knowing that it will be different from the day before and understanding the residents are not giving anyone a hard time but they are just, at times, having a hard time. Joy is excited to be a member of the Sunrise team and she looks forward to serving in the community for a long time.

raven buttsRaven Butts

Activities and Volunteer Coordinator

"I started my career with Sunrise in January of 2008, and feel as if I have grown up in this community. Brighton Gardens is more than a job to me, it’s my home away from home. I look forward to coming in to work to see my residents and get them excited about the day. Giving my residents a sense of purpose is my number one goal. I am always eager try new things and find new ways to engage every resident in some way. I enjoy learning about life from those who are older and wiser than myself, as they have so much to share if we are willing to sit down and listen. One of my favorite parts about my job is seeing residents thrive after they move in to Sunrise. It has brought my life so much joy to build the relationships with residents and their families over the course of the last eleven and a half years. I look forward to all of the adventures to come!"
