"I started working with Sunrise in 2019. I have been a nurse for almost 25 years and have experience as a Nursing Director in both senior care and pediatric and adult home care. My mother has been a Sunrise Resident for over 3 years and I am thrilled to be working for the company that has taken such great care of my Mom!;
I appreciate all of the support and teamwork that I see at Sunrise. Everyone is always happy to help and answer questions. My favorite part of the day is getting to spend time with the Residents."
In my free time I enjoy hiking, walking, yoga, reading and spending time with my family.
"I started working for Sunrise in October of 2017 but have been in the industry since 2007. When I was in high school, I started working in skilled nursing and have worked in many different roles. I started out as a concierge, worked in activities, then moved on to medical records and worked in admissions before joining Sunrise. I have always enjoyed learning different roles and gaining new experiences.
I have always had a close relationship with my grandmother, and that has guided my career path. My favorite part about working in senior housing is connecting with residents and families. I enjoy bringing a smile to residents’ faces and am always here to support them on their bad days.
Sunrise does a great job of investing time in their employees’ training. Although I have been in the industry for a while, I am always soaking up new information. Sunrise has a great support system, and if I have a question, I am always able to reach out to sister communities or regional team members. Sunrise has great opportunities for growth, and I have learned so much since I started.
When I’m not working with families at Sunrise, I enjoy spending time with my nephew. I also enjoy visiting the local wineries with my friends, and I love to go to 80's concerts in Washington D.C."
"I have worked for Sunrise since 2010 and have been in the care and activities departments during that time. My career with Sunrise began in June 2010 at the Sunrise at Hunter Mill community. There, I was a care manager in the Reminiscence neighborhood. It was there that I fell in love with working with seniors living with different levels and types of dementia.
The best part of working at Sunrise is the family experience we share as a team. I love that my job allows me to be creative while also learning from others. I am fortunate that I am able to see the best parts of our residents as they share their past lives and legacy with our staff and with one another. I truly love the innovative Live with Purpose programming that encourage residents to engage, enjoy, express, learn, and grow in our communities.
If I weren’t an employee already, I would be a volunteer with Sunrise because I enjoy helping others and gaining wisdom from the residents."
"I have been with Sunrise since May of 2017. I came to Sunrise with more than 10 years of experience working for both independent living and skilled nursing facilities in the Washington Metropolitan area. My favorite part of the job is being able to listen to residents stories.
In my free time, I enjoy finding new recipes to cook with my son, Daniel, and spending time with family and friends."

“I started working at Sunrise in June 2019. Prior to that, I worked as a Resident Care Coordinator at an assisted living facility in Miami. Working with seniors chose me rather than the other way around. After interning there during my last year of college, it just felt right to stay.
My favorite part of the job is getting to know the residents. I love to see the smile that I can put on their face with the little things that, somehow, make a big difference. I am grateful to have the opportunity to change lives; it is the most rewarding accomplishment one could have.
One of the things about Sunrise that attracted me is the camaraderie that I noticed during my first ever meeting with some of the staff. Sunrise also invests in extensively training its employees to ensure that they are equipped with all the tools they need to provide the best quality of life and care for the residents.
During my spare time, I enjoy being with my family and friends. I also enjoy reading, exercising, as well as discovering new cuisines and places with my husband.”
