Meet some of the fantastic members of our team here at Sunrise at Ivey Ridge, GA.
"I joined the Sunrise team in 2017. Previously, I was Director of facilities at a large private school in Atlanta. I am a native of Georgia and live with my wife of over 24 years, and I have a 22 year old daughter.
Working at Sunrise is my dream job! I began working with seniors a very young age. My mother worked in nursing homes and home health. I loved going to work with her and helping the residents. I enjoyed hearing there stories and learning about there lives. In 1989, my grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. A couple days every week he would go to an Alzheimer’s day center. This is where I became involved with the Alzheimer’s association. In 1991, I started the first Alzheimer’s support group in Forsyth county at the age of 16. I volunteered at nursing homes and at the day center. I was fortunate to be invited to the Governor’s office for a proclamation signing for Alzheimer’s awareness month.
Serving the residents here at Sunrise is truly an honor for me."
"I began my career with Sunrise in 2004. Prior to working for Sunrise,I served four years as a Combat Medic for the United States Army. I began my Sunrise career as a Care Manager, providing my residents with care, support, and a shoulder to lean on. I eventually became an Activities and Volunteer Coordinator which enabled me to spend my day smiling, laughing, and spending time with my favorite people, my residents!
I became a certified validation worker in 2017, which has allowed me the opportunity to help not only my team but my families to have quality interactions with their loved ones. My favorite part of my job is being able to help both my residents and my families to understand and embrace the ageing process. In my spare time I enjoy horseback riding, going to the gym, and spending time with my husband of 15 years and my three children."
“I have worked for Sunrise as a medication technician since 2003.
