“I have been with Sunrise since 2008—serving as an executive director since 2010. I previously worked in a nursing home in Pennsylvania as a dementia program manager, and prior to that, I was interning with a gero-psychologist working on non-medicinal interventions for seniors with dementia who were experiencing challenging behaviors.
I really value the feeling that I can make a difference every day in the lives of our residents and team members. I love doing Current Events Club with the residents in assisted living and trivia or sing along with Reminiscence. I also enjoy team member training and continuing education—especially when it comes to behavioral expressions and expressions of unmet needs.
There are so many great things about working at Sunrise! I love our Sunrise signatures; my favorite one is community pets. We have two dogs at our community, Maya and Charlie. Both were rescued from local organizations and have become a part of our family at Orchard.
I like to spend my spare time hiking, traveling, and with friends and family.”
“During my time at Sunrise since joining the team in 2007, I have learned to embrace the phrases “Yes is the answer, now what is the question?” and to “assume the best intentions.” Working with seniors has been extremely rewarding. I consider it a great honor to be here during this point of resident’s lives, helping them to have good days.
