We are thrilled to introduce you to a few of our outstanding team members who make each day special here at Sunrise at San Marino.
"I have been with Sunrise for over 5 years as the Business Office Coordinator, but have also assisted other departments intermittently over the years. My favorite part of my job is working in a home environment because we have a sense of family with our residents. The best part about working at Sunrise is how we help make a difference in a person’s life. It is an honor to serve our residents and their families.
In my spare time, I enjoy learning and reading articles about almost any subject, but I love spending time with my family the most.
Rita began her journey working with seniors when she received her master's degree in aging services management from the University of Southern California. She finds it rewarding to know she is a resource for families during what is sometimes a difficult decision making process, saying "I am grateful for the opportunity I have been given to positively impact a senior's life and provide them with a loving and caring home."
In her free time, Rita enjoys hiking, traveling, playing with her dogs, and spending time with her loved ones.
Penny has been with Sunrise since 2003. She’s worked as a care coordinator in both assisted living and our Reminiscence memory care neighborhood. Before joining Sunrise, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Penny’s favorite part of working at Sunrise is getting to help not only the residents on a daily basis, but also their families. Penny strives to make the residents smile, laugh, or engage in a life skill each day to ensure they’re having pleasant days.
In her spare time, Penny enjoys spending time with her husband and son. She loves to travel to different national parks and being together as a family.
Ella began her journey at Sunrise at San Marino in 2013. She began as a medication manager and wellness nurse before transitioning to her current role of assisted living coordinator. She has found great joy in being part of our residents’ lives and is honored to have the privilege of getting to know them.
Ella’s favorite Principle of Service is Celebrating Individuality, as all of our residents shine in their own way.
Samantha has been working at Sunrise since 2011. She started out as a care manager, then as a medication care manager and reminiscence supervisor. Samantha loves working with the residents each day, and finds her career to be very rewarding. She appreciates how everyone works well as a team and enjoys hearing stories from residents each day.
In her spare time, Samantha likes to spend time outdoors, hiking, traveling, and going to the beach.
Liz has been with Sunrise since 2010 and started out as a concierge. She loves being around residents and feels like they are the grandparents she never had. Liz lives and breathes the Sunrise mission: "To champion the quality of life for all seniors". In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing and watching sports, especially softball.
Catherine has been working at Sunrise for almost 3 years now! Prior to Sunrise, she worked at a nursing home for 10 years in which she was an activities assistant and grew into the Activities Director position. Her favorite part of working at Sunrise is meeting the residents and finding out what they enjoy best.
She finds the most enjoyable part of working at Sunrise is being able to create fun memories with our residents and families.
