“I began my career as a licensed practical nurse working at a local hospital. After continuing my education, I transitioned to Marriott Senior Living Community, which is now known as The Fairfax, a Sunrise Senior Living community. Through obtaining a passion in this field, I continued to work hard in order to take on a more administrative role here at Sunrise. In 2016, I was given the opportunity to serve as senior executive director, and I am very excited to continue living out my passion by serving our residents and living out the Sunrise mission.

My favorite part of my job here at Sunrise is the ability to change the lives of residents in need—physically or emotionally. I love being able to bring them joy and comfort at this point of their lives. I am so proud to work for a company whose mission aligns so closely with my passion for seniors. 

In my spare time, I enjoy outdoor activities and nature itself! My family and I frequently escape to the West Virginia Mountains with our four wheeler and enjoy camping and each other’s company.”

"I have been with Sunrise since June of 2014. Before Sunrise, I had experience in working s a Sales Assistant, Tennis Instructor, Manager, Buyer, and Realtor. I find that through all of my many professions that I enjoy helping and working with people.  

My favorite part of my job is working with families and being a resource to them as they make one of the most important decisions in life. The best part of working at Sunrise is that I can call our community my home away from home with all of the friendships I've made with residents, families and team members.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, gardening, decorating, traveling, spending time with my friends & family, and being a mother to my two children."

Reminiscence Coordinator

"I started with Sunrise in 2017. Previously, I worked at The Tribute at Heritage Village in Gainesville, VA as the Memory Care Coordinator which is very similar role to this position. Additionally, I worked for the Alzheimer’s Association (National Capital Area chapter) for many years in various roles: answering the 24/7 Helpline, providing family consultations, providing professional training, and overseeing/training support groups. Lastly, I worked with the Eastern NC Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association where I developed training programs and trained with Teepa Snow.

My favorite part of my job, if I had to choose, would be getting to know and spending time with our residents. My favorite part of working for Sunrise is the fact that it is a company that is well established and values training and development. I look forward to upholding the mission, core values, and principles that is Sunrise. 

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband of over 25 years and three daughters. I also love running, thrift shopping, being involved in my church, serving on my local Young Life Committee, and enjoying good food and wine."

"I graduated in Marketing and Advertising in 2008, and since then, I have been working in the sports and entertainment industry. Two of my biggest professional achievements were working for the FIFA World Cup (2014) and the Olympic Games (2016), both in Brazil. 

Since I was a kid I always wanted to work with seniors, and now that I am part of this family at Sunrise, I have the opportunity of bringing all my experience and use that to help our residents.

Everyone likes to have fun! I joined Sunrise in 2017 to fulfill our resident’s mind, body and spirit! While understanding all their needs, we tailor the activities according to their life experiences and what they most love to do. It thrills me to see their happiness and excitement while having fun and filling their life with purpose.

In my spare time, I like watching movies, listening to podcasts, and enjoying time with my dog, a very cute black-and-white Shih Tzu. I love going out for dinner and karaoke with my friends. 

It is an honor to be part of this big family and work together to champion quality life for all our residents!"

“I’ve been with Sunrise since May 2014. I started as a Care Manager at Braddock Glen and after 5 months I was promoted to Medication Technician. Before joining the Sunrise family I was a CNA for 9 years, working with Agencies and then decided to change to Assisted Living.

I love getting to know the residents, and making them feel at home before giving them their medication. Some residents like to share about their dreams and stories… it is nice to feel like I’m part of their family. I like working with Sunrise because we have a great team, we help each other and you know you always have someone to rely on.

In my spare time, I like to watch old movies with my kids.”

"I started working for Sunrise in 2015 and have had the opportunity to grow at several communities for the company. Prior to working for Sunrise I worked as a General Contractor.

My favorite part about working for Sunrise is working with the residents every day. I enjoy training team members and bring a high energy to the team. I love to stay busy and have a full plate and enjoy a new challenge. Sunrise is a great place to work because there are so many opportunities to grow and to learn.

I am very competitive and in my spare time I like to play basketball, go for hikes and grill."
