We’re welcoming brighter days while continuing to promote health and safety.
"I have been a member of the Sunrise family for over 13 years since earning a bachelor's degree in health administration and a master's degree in gerontology. I am also a certified validation teacher. In great preparation for Executive Director, I have held many roles including activities and volunteer coordinator, business office coordinator as well as reminiscence coordinator. My favorite part of working at Sunrise is engaging with the residents and team members in an environment that is filled with love. I do feel that the best part about Sunrise is the serving hearts of the team members, as there is a joy in service and passion to provide quality care for our seniors.
In my spare time, I enjoy time with my family and getting outdoors."
"I’ve been a Director of Sales for over 10 years and have worked at three different Sunrise communities – Woodland Hills, West Hills and now Sterling Canyon in Valencia. Prior to Sunrise, I was with Silverado Senior Living, The Surgery Center of Santa Monica, Abbott Laboratories and Good Samaritan Hospital. During that time, I completed a master’s in healthcare administration at USC.
My wife Patricia and I are kept busy with our boys Dean & Nick and our two dogs in Valley Village. Lastly, my parents moved into Sunrise and I get to see them every day!"
"I am currently the Resident Care Director for Sunrise of Sterling Canyon in Valencia, Ca. I have been in nursing for over 17 years. My favorite part about being here is servicing the residents and their families. I get joy in hearing the stories and interacting with the families.
I enjoy traveling and seeing new places and meeting new people."
"While I am relatively new to Sunrise at Sterling Canyon, I have been a resident of the Santa Clarita Valley for the past 24 years. Prior to working for Sunrise, I was an event director for local non-profits as well as coordinating after-school programming for the school districts. One of the things that I love most about Sunrise is the Live With Purpose Programming. I love connecting with our residents and learning about what types of activities and programs that bring them joy. I feel so grateful to be able to share time and make memories with such wonderful people.
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our three adult children and horse- back riding on our ranch."
“I have been with Sunrise at Sterling Canyon since 2005. Working with everyone here is such a privilege; I like to call the team my second family. The best part of being the Assisted Living Coordinator is interacting with my residents on a daily basis and doing what I can to make them smile. My favorite part of Sunrise is creating pleasant days with the residents and forming friendships with the team."
"I am currently the Reminiscence Coordinator here at Sunrise at Sterling Canyon. In past years, it has been my privilege to serve our residents as a care manager, a lead care manager, and an Assisted Living Supervisor. My favorite thing about coming to work every day is being able to interact with the residents, seeing the residents smile, and hearing their stories brings joy to my heart. Sunrise has become my 2nd home away from home, I value every relationship with every resident, family member, and with every care manager that make our community a truly special place to want to call home.
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my husband, spending time with family and friends, outdoor activities, and gardening."
"I have over 43 years of cooking and restaurant experience and have been fortunate to have spent my last 31 as Dining Services Director at Sunrise at Sterling Canyon. I became one of the first dining services mentors at Sunrise and have traveled to many communities in the western US to assist with the training of new Dining Services Coordinators. I’ve also had the chance to assist with the grand openings of more than 15 communities in Southern California and support a number of area communities as a Cluster DSC.”
My wife, Beth, and I have been married for 24 years. In my free time, I love to fish, dirt bike and ride my OHV, camp at the beach and fly my drone."
"I started as a Concierge and have been a Care Manager, Community Relations Associate, Lead Care Manager, and Assisted Living Supervisor. My favorite part of Sunrise is our residents and our team members."
"My favorite part of Sunrise is seeing that the residents have the quality of life they deserve, to see that they are comfortable and safe. I enjoy helping our team members become better in their positions. I have a general contractors license, teaching credential.
When I am not at work, I enjoy camping & fishing with my wife (she doesn’t like the fishing part) of 46 years. I also spend as much time with my children and their families, which consist of 19 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. I am truly blessed to be able to help others in so many ways."
