Outside of work, Susan likes to spend time with her three children.
Georgia, a member of the Sunrise of Basking Ridge team for 11 years, says she enjoys sitting with the residents and talking with them about their lives, past and present. She has served as Lead Care Manager, Reminiscence Coordinator and now Assisted Living Coordinator, but Georgia says her favorite role is Resident Friend.
According to Georgia, at Sunrise she has the ability to act as an advocate for her residents and work with her fellow team members and families to ensure they deliver the best quality care.
In her spare time, Georgia and her two children like to have family game night.
“When the residents give me compliments on things I do for them, it raises my spirit; it’s worth so much more than my paycheck,” said Marvin, a member of the Sunrise of Basking Ridge team for more than eight years. Marvin enjoys telling jokes, spending time with the residents and leading a Pokeno group three times a week.
When he’s not at work, Marvin enjoys watching all types of movies.
Pam joins the Sunrise of Basking Ridge team with more than a decade of experience working with people living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. She says she loves making a connection with a resident and seeing the “light bulb moment” when their face brightens. “We want to spark their interest with a song, an activity they previously enjoyed or something else,” Pam said. “You have to give all of yourself when working with someone with dementia.”
In her free time, Pam enjoys cooking, entertaining and going on weekend excursions with her husband.
With 10 years of experience here at Sunrise of Basking Ridge, Rose says she takes joy in talking with the residents every single day. She likes to ask how they are and get to know each person. At Sunrise, she says, it’s amazing to see how our residents thrive and regain their independence after they move in and receive the resources they need.
When she’s not working, she likes to go shopping for handbags.
