Chef Michael is a Washington native and graduated from Culinary school here in Seattle. He has been in the food service industry for 40 years which sounds like a long time, but he has had many opportunities during his career. He started his career in high end hotels in Seattle, the Sorrento Hotel, The Sheraton Hotel, Willows Lodge and The Warwick Seattle Hotel. While all these fine establishments helped train him to be a fine dining chef, he loves the ability to feed people that he knows and cares about.

Our concierge, Jonathan Wiedemann, is always first to greet visitors, family members, and residents with a smile. He loves working for Sunrise and has been with us since 2014. Jonathan started off in the kitchen as a server, transitioned to activities, and now, he has been a wonderful concierge since 2016. He has worked in all of these departments because he plans to finish school and continue building his career with Sunrise on his way to one day becoming a Director of Sales. At some point in his career, Jonathan also plans to work in the other departments within the community so that he can better understand the operations and inner workings of the industry.
His favorite part about working at Sunrise is getting to know the families and making lifelong friends and memories with the residents. His goal each day is to bring joy and purpose into their lives, along with putting a smile on every face he encounters. He is passionate about his work and considers it an honor and a privilege to work with residents that he considers his family.
In his free time, Jonathan enjoys playing soccer, basketball, hiking, and bonding with his recently adopted Beagle puppy, Loki.

Gabe joined the Sunrise of Bothell team in 2019 after being adopted from a local animal shelter. He was chosen by a group of residents who fell in love with him during a visit to the shelter (although one could argue that Gabe chose us to be his family). He is a 7 year old terrier mix. He is a very sweet boy and is always looking for a lap to cuddle up in (although he is very polite and always asks permission first). He has a lot of energy and loves to frolic and run around (he runs a little lopsided, but we don’t hold it against him). Gabe takes his role very seriously and enjoys greeting everyone that enters the building. He is loved by everyone who meets him!
