Sunrise of Braintree

Meet the Sunrise of Braintree, MA Team

We are pleased to introduce you to some of the team members who make our community a wonderful place to call home.

Braintree ED-Eileen Mahoney

Eileen Mahoney

Executive Director

“I have been with Sunrise since 2005. It is such an honor to serve our residents and to be entrusted with their care. It is truly a gift when you are able to make even a small difference in a resident’s life. I feel very fortunate to work with a committed team that serves with a lot of heart and simply loves taking care of seniors.

I enjoy spending my free time with my family and friends. I love decorating and creating beautiful environments for myself and others who solicit my help.

Braintree-Activities Coordinator Lisa Carney

Lisa Carney

Senior Activities & Volunteer Coordinator and One-to-One Trainer

“I joined Sunrise in August of 2007 and came to Sunrise with ten years of experience in health services at Randolph public schools.

Working at Sunrise is the hardest job I’ve ever loved; the best part about working for Sunrise is that they hire you for your heart and teach you the rest. My favorite part is the people I get to meet, know, and love. Each one is special and unique. I enjoy learning about their lives and doing my best to make sure that they find happiness and purpose every day here at Sunrise.

When I am not working I am probably cooking, reading on my hammock in the summer, and spending time with my beautiful family.”

Braintree CNA- Bernadette Gannon

Bernadette Gannon, CNA

Assisted Living Coordinator

“I have been with Sunrise of Braintree since the community opened in September 2007, and it seems like just yesterday. I have been a certified nursing assistant since 1972 and have worked at various facilities prior to Sunrise—including ten years at The Boston Home in Dorchester for patients with multiple sclerosis. While my children were young, I worked in private care, and then transitioned to Carney Hospital and another assisted living community, before starting to manage teams in 2001.

I love having the opportunity to listen to residents’ stories and treasure working with new residents and families and watching them transition and blossom at Sunrise. It allows me to go home knowing I did some small thing for a resident that put a smile on their face or made their day a little easier. There is nothing like it.

Our team is so strong, so I feel lucky to lead a diverse team of dedicated front line team members—each of whom is committed to exemplary care of mind, body, and spirit. This team is unlike any other that I’ve encountered.

When I’m not at Sunrise, I enjoy going to Foxwoods, listening to country music, traveling, and spending as much time with my amazing family as possible—especially my three adorable grandchildren.”

Braintree- Bo

“I’m Bo. I am the residents’ furry family member. Some refer to me as the community pet. I have lived at Sunrise of Braintree for just over six years, and my job is to receive love, go for walks, play fetch, and keep my neighbors entertained. I’m kind of known as a ‘TOP-DOG.’ Even the Mayor of Braintree has rubbed my belly.

I get so much love from everyone who works, lives, and visits Sunrise of Braintree. I used to get snacks from a lot of people, but because of my weight, I have been put on a ‘no-treat’ diet unless permitted.

In my spare time, I like to nap. I enjoy playing with all the other dogs that visit. Every day, I try to visit the other community pet, Wicket. She’s a cat that lives in the Reminiscence neighborhood. She doesn’t like me too much because I try to eat her food, but we enjoy hanging out together and giving love to the residents who live with her.”
