Roxanne Walkotten

Executive Director

Roxanne Walkotten | Assisted Living Coordinator

“Six years ago, I began my career with Sunrise as a Recreational Therapy Intern, and have moved up through the company as Activities Assistant, Activities Coordinator, Terrace Club Coordinator, Assisted Living Coordinator, Business Office Coordinator and now Executive Director. Throughout my entire professional career, one constant is my love of working with seniors and sharing my passion for their care, well-being and happiness with those around me.

I firmly believe in Sunrise’s mission to provide the highest quality of care, the most well-trained team members, and a safe environment for our residents. I look forward to the future and my continued growth and development with Sunrise.”

brittany carterBrittany Carter

Director of Sales

"I have been with Sunrise Senior Living since 2019. I graduated from Winthrop University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Healthcare Management. I fell in love with senior living in 2014 through an internship. The funny this is, I randomly picked that internship not knowing it would be one of the best decisions I have ever made.

What I enjoy most about being the Director of Sales is meeting new families and helping them find the perfect community for themselves and/or their loved one. Working at Sunrise truly feels like my home away from home. The joy on our residents faces everyday bring so much joy to my life.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my son. I am a huge foodie, so trying new restaurants with friends and family is always a pleasure."

Resident Care Director

“I have worked at Sunrise Senior Living for 5 years as the Resident Care Director”. I initially started with Sunrise in 2006, as a Care Manager, then as a Wellness Nurse. I have had the opportunity to see residents flourish in both Memory care and Assisted Living. Sunrise has provided me with the opportunity to grow, both in my career and personally. I love that my role allows me to leave lasting impressions on our residents and families. Being able to connect with residents, staff, and families on a personal level is something that stands out about Sunrise. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my 2 daughters.”

Assisted Living Coordinator

“My passion for working with seniors began in my youth when caring for my Grandmother who was steadily declining from multiple sclerosis. Since then, I have always had it in my heart to work in healthcare with seniors. I have been working in this field for 14 years now and have been with Sunrise over 3 years. I started with Sunrise in the Reminiscence neighborhood as a care manager, shortly after I became a Lead Care Manager, a Reminiscence Supervisor, then I completed additional training and graduated from our Department in Coordinator training program. A few months later I was promoted to the Assisted Living Coordinator position. My dedication and motivation for ensuring quality care and services is my primary focus. I strongly believe in our Sunrise mission of "championing the quality of life for all seniors". It is so rewarding to see our residents and families smile day to day and continuously knowing this is their new home while regaining a sense of purpose in life.”

Reminiscence Coordinator

“I grew up in Central New York playing in the hay fields and playing queen of the snow mountain with my friends at school. I received my CNA in high school and started working with residents with memory care in 2006. I knew that was what I was meant to do from the first training day, I could not soak in enough information and was always looking for ways to improve myself so I could make a difference in the day of at least one of my residents. I started at sunrise in July of 2010 and that was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I was quick to see they were one of the special companies. They truly care and that made a difference to me. I became a med tech and a lead soon after starting. I then became Coordinator to better ensure that my residents are getting the best care possible. One of the highlights of my job is to see one of my residents recognize me, they do not know my name, they do not know who I am, and all they know is that I made them have a feeling that made them happy. That is what makes me happy to come to work every day.”

Maintenance Coordinator

“Growing and always learning since 2009, I have found that there is no better feeling than helping someone who can no longer help themselves. Among other things, I love the family atmosphere and potential for growth that Sunrise provides.”

grant rogersGrant Rogers

Director of Sales

"I am originally from the North Raleigh area but have spent the past couple of years in the mountains of North Carolina earning my undergraduate degree. I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in public health from Appalachian State and have truly found my dream job here at Sunrise. I have previously worked as the Associate Director of Sales at Sunrise Villa Tuckahoe in Virginia, and am ecstatic to be back in the Triangle area working as the Sales Director at Sunrise of Cary. My passion for helping seniors started when I helped take care of my own grandmother in 2014 when she started showing signs of dementia. I have seen first-hand how assisted living communities like Sunrise can truly make a positive impact in both the lives of the resident and their family members; it is something I am very proud to be a part of! Outside of work, I am an avid rock climber and enjoy traveling the world with my family."

caitlin allenCaitlin Allen

Activities & Volunteer Coordinator

"I studied Recreational Therapy at East Carolina University and I am currently a Licensed Recreational Therapist. As a Recreational Therapist, we see activities as more than a pass time. We see all the benefits and different goals that people can work on while enjoying their favorite hobbies and also discovering new ones. I have been in the industry since 2015 and I love every minute. I chose to work with Sunrise because even though they are an international company, they still take the time and effort to care about their team members, families, and residents. In my free time I love spending time with my husband and toddler. I also enjoy crafting, which is a skill I picked up during my time as an Activities Coordinator, and I love constantly learning new things in this profession."

Business Office Coordinator

"I started with Sunrise Senior Living of North Hills as an Assistant to the Business Office Coordinator. I was looking for a place to wear orange and work with seniors, so Sunrise was obviously the best fit for me! I love being a part of the Sunrise team!

"I started with Sunrise in 2020. My favorite part of my job is talking with the residents and hearing their history or stories. I also enjoy preparing food that can bring back memories from their past celebrations or their childhood. This is personal joy for me. What I enjoy on my spare time is traveling and seeing historical parks."
