We are pleased to introduce you to some of the team members who make our community so special. Our group is fiercely dedicated to our residents and their families and to providing the best possible level of care.
“Sunrise of Cary is truly my home. With over 14 years in the industry, I can truly say that Sunrise of Cary is my family. I love coming to the community every day and seeing the residents and staff. Just knowing that what I do every day can bring a smile to someone can make all of the difference in the world. If it’s not a celebration, it’s a song, or a hug, or just being there to say hello…these moments are what bring joy every single day to my life. I share my husband (Sam), two kids (Josh 21 and Hannah 13), 2 dogs (Tater and Bella) and a cat (Buttercup) with my Sunrise family.”
“After graduating from East Carolina, I never imagined that I would have so much gratitude working for a company. By providing information to prospective residents and families, I am able to help them make informed decisions regarding their transition into assisted living. My favorite part of each day is speaking with families about what unique feature of Sunrise will truly be most relevant and purposeful for their loved one. Sunrise of Cary has the most remarkable culture, atmosphere, and philosophy. Through our mission, principles of service, and core values, I am so incredibly lucky to work with such an incredible team to help take care of our residents.”
“I have worked at Sunrise Senior Living for 5 years as the Resident Care Director”. I initially started with Sunrise in 2006, as a Care Manager, then as a Wellness Nurse. I have had the opportunity to see residents flourish in both Memory care and Assisted Living. Sunrise has provided me with the opportunity to grow, both in my career and personally. I love that my role allows me to leave lasting impressions on our residents and families. Being able to connect with residents, staff, and families on a personal level is something that stands out about Sunrise. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my 2 daughters.”
“My passion for working with seniors began in my youth when caring for my Grandmother who was steadily declining from multiple sclerosis. Since then, I have always had it in my heart to work in healthcare with seniors. I have been working in this field for 14 years now and have been with Sunrise over 3 years. I started with Sunrise in the Reminiscence neighborhood as a care manager, shortly after I became a Lead Care Manager, a Reminiscence Supervisor, then I completed additional training and graduated from our Department in Coordinator training program. A few months later I was promoted to the Assisted Living Coordinator position. My dedication and motivation for ensuring quality care and services is my primary focus. I strongly believe in our Sunrise mission of "championing the quality of life for all seniors". It is so rewarding to see our residents and families smile day to day and continuously knowing this is their new home while regaining a sense of purpose in life.”
“I have only just begun my journey here at Sunrise but I already feel like this is my home away from home. I feel passionate about the Sunrise Principals of Service and take great pride in the care we offer our residents. I love that part of my day I can make a difference supporting my team members, residents and resident families. Although they may not know it, the residents here truly brighten each and every day I get the opportunity to interact with them. I feel very lucky to know each and every one of them. My husband and I are new to North Carolina and we are loving all of the southern hospitality that has been afforded to us. When not at Sunrise I love to cook, travel and learn the not-so-relaxing game of golf.”
“I grew up in Central New York playing in the hay fields and playing queen of the snow mountain with my friends at school. I received my CNA in high school and started working with residents with memory care in 2006. I knew that was what I was meant to do from the first training day, I could not soak in enough information and was always looking for ways to improve myself so I could make a difference in the day of at least one of my residents. I started at sunrise in July of 2010 and that was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I was quick to see they were one of the special companies. They truly care and that made a difference to me. I became a med tech and a lead soon after starting. I then became Coordinator to better ensure that my residents are getting the best care possible. One of the highlights of my job is to see one of my residents recognize me, they do not know my name, they do not know who I am, and all they know is that I made them have a feeling that made them happy. That is what makes me happy to come to work every day.”
“I started my cooking journey back in 2005 in Long Island, NY. Shortly after, I moved to NC in 2007 and began working as a chef in assisted living. I’m a father of 3 and cooking is my passion. I am truly proud to serve our wonderful residents here at Sunrise of Cary.”
“As an Activities and Volunteer Coordinator, my goal every day is to provide well rounded activities that make our residents happy and fulfilled! The bonds I create with our residents bring me a sense of pride and achievement. My favorite activities include, our exercise classes, musical entertainment, and flower arranging!”
“Growing and always learning since 2009, I have found that there is no better feeling than helping someone who can no longer help themselves. Among other things, I love the family atmosphere and potential for growth that Sunrise provides.”
