Deb has been with Sunrise of Cascade since 2006, and she helped open the community in 2007. She served as the executive director at another community in Grand Rapids for eight years prior to coming to Sunrise. She also has experience running a staffing agency.
Deb’s favorite part of the job is ensuring that the residents at Sunrise have the best possible care. She gives her heart and soul to everything she loves, including her work at Sunrise. She has an open door policy - staff, residents and families can always have her ear.
Outside of work, Deb enjoys spending time with her two grandchildren, Mila and Hunter.
Jeanne joined the Sunrise of Cascade team six years ago. Her favorite part of her role as the Director of Sales is interacting with our residents and their families
According to Jeanne, “Sunrise feels like my home away from home. My teammates are like family and there is always a resident willing to share a laugh, smile or a hug.”
In her spare time, Jeanne enjoys spending time with her husband, Marty, and her children, Sean and Kaitlyn. They are the owners of two dogs, a cat, a turtle and a hamster.
Sabrina joined Sunrise with years of geriatric experience. As a former professor,she puts to use her love of learning and teaching every day.
Working with residents and their families is especially meaningful to Sabrina as she helps them navigate this difficult time in their lives. She has also gone through training as a support group facilitator for the Alzheimers Association.
Music is a big part of Sabrina’s life. She plays the cello with the Kent Philharmonic as well as several smaller string ensembles. Additionally,she enjoys scrapbooking and reading. Sabrina has been with Sunrise for four years.
Whitey joined the team at Sunrise of Cascade in 2010. He has more than 30 years of country club experience, including time spent at the Centennial Country Club and the Blythefield Country Club in Grand Rapids, MI.
David enjoys putting together cooking demonstrations and creating holiday spreads for the residents and their families. He says that cooking for the residents has completed the missing link in his culinary career.
When he’s not working, Whitey enjoys golfing and all things Michigan State University. Go Green!
Leo has been at Sunrise of Cascade since the community’s doors opened 2007. He is an electrician by trade. He takes pride in making sure the building is in the very best possible condition. Leo says he enjoys listening to the residents and working to meet all of their needs.
In his free time, Leo enjoys the spending time outside, gardening and beekeeping. He is a soccer referee for local high schools and colleges.
