Lea has been with Sunrise Senior Living since 2007. She began her Sunrise career as the activities director at another Sunrise community. After seeing the increasing number of residents with memory loss, she became Reminiscence Coordinator, serving residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. She returned to Massachusetts in 2012 to serve as Executive Director at Sunrise of Cohasset.
Lea says she loves making a difference for her residents, who have such great life stories and experiences. Recognizing how difficult it is to leave one’s home, it means so much to her to give back a sense of home and belonging to the seniors who live in our community.
According to Lea, the best part of working for Sunrise is knowing that our Principles of Service are alive and well. There’s an amazing history to Sunrise and maintaining that culture of caring and championing the quality of life for seniors is a special part of this community.
In her spare time, Lea loves to spend time in nature and the great outdoors. Fishing with her father and spending time with loved ones on the Cape is a thrill for Lea. She loves living in a coastal area where she can walk to the beach and enjoy the sea, sand and surf. Searching for sea glass has become a new pastime.
Sarah has been with Sunrise for more than three years, after spending decades in the financial services industry. She found her passion for assisted living and memory care after devoting her time to family and her two sons.
Sarah started her career with Sunrise as a part time Concierge and was promoted to the Activities & Volunteer Coordinator position. Her love of working with people and strong sense of advocating for involvement in the community made her a shoe-in to lead our “Live with Purpose” Programming. She knew early on that she traveled a long way to arrive right where she belongs.
Sarah loves being a positive part of the community and fills the calendar with fun, enriching activities every day.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys the beautiful community of Cohasset with her family, especially the beaches and the many hiking trails.
Ann has worked for Sunrise of Cohasset since 2013, and has shown such joy in her service to others, that she has repeatedly been nominated to receive the Sunrise Joy in Service Award.
She enjoys greeting everyone with a “Good Morning,” “Good Afternoon” and “Good Evening!” She feels like family to our residents, families and team members.
Ann says that the best part of working at Sunrise is spending time with our residents, their families and our team members. She loves sharing stories, special moments, a song or a laugh. She also loves seeing how kind, thoughtful and caring our team members are with our residents and how kind, thoughtful and caring our residents are to us.
In her spare time, Ann loves to cook and share Sunday dinners with her family. She also enjoys playing with her four grandchildren, spending time with friends, walking, boating, kayaking and catching bigger fish than her husband!
Rebecca has been a part of the Sunrise of Cohasset team since October 2018. Prior to Cohasset, she worked at Sunrise of Norwood. During her time at Sunrise, Rebecca realized how beneficial individualized relationships are - with residents and team members alike. Since becoming Assisted Living Coordinator in Cohasset, Rebecca has set out to bridge the gap between residents, their families, and the great staff. She continues to drive for great communication between the three parties that are so closely intertwined.
Rebecca’s favorite part of her job is how much she can accomplish away from her desk. You can often find Rebecca eating a meal with the residents, or chatting in the sitting area. Prior to working for Sunrise Senior Living, Rebecca had volunteered or worked with older adults in some capacity for many years. Studying Geriatrics and Psychology during her time at Indiana University only solidified further her passion for working with older adults. She appreciates that Sunrise encourages their residents to age in place – in their home. She feels lucky getting to work in these special peoples’ homes every day.
When Rebecca is not at work, she loves to spend time exploring the city of Boston. Her favorite place to be is Fenway Park. Her and her fiancé enjoy watching Red Sox/Yankees games together every season, even though they root for different teams. They are also in the midst of planning their fall 2020 wedding. Rebecca has received great advice from residents on wedding planning!
