"I have worked at Sunrise of Exton for 17 years. I am so proud to call this community my home and have been given the opportunity for so much encouragement and growth. I started as a part time Concierge and after receiving my Bachelors in Social Work, I worked as the Lead Concierge then serve a majority of my time as the Activity & Volunteer Coordinator at the community. Being able to serve in one place for so long is a gift and I am so thankful to have met countless residents and families who have touched my heart so deeply.
As a certified Validation Group Practitioner, I have also learned how to grow closer with our residents using Validation principles and teach our team the importance of Validation within our roles in the community. Outside of Sunrise, I spend a lot of time with my family (and extended family). My children Hayden and Colton keep me very busy and we love creating memories together. I also serve as a Camp Director of Cedarbrook Camp in Pennsylvania, in which I have attend every summer since I was in the first grade. Camp holds a special place in my heart and I love being able to spend time in the summer with the campers and staff."
"I joined the Sunrise team in the spring of 2019, and haven’t looked back! My 36 years of nursing has predominately consisted of working with the geriatric population. I feel most at home when I am working with seniors. I received my RN degree from Bryn Mawr Nursing School and obtained my Bachelors of Nursing from Villanova University. I currently hold a PC Administrator Certificate, as well as being a Certified Dementia Practitioner.
When I’m not working, family and friends are my life line. My newest hobby is riding bicycles with my husband and daughter. Being outside gives me peace and calms my soul. I am truly blessed."
“My background and degrees are in social work. Of my 13 years as a social worker, much of my work involved a geriatric population. Working with seniors is truly where I am the happiest, which is why Sunrise has been a good choice for me.
My favorite part of my role here is knowing when I have made a difference in someone’s day, even for something that might otherwise seem insignificant. I feel lucky that these opportunities present themselves almost every day here.
When I’m not at Sunrise, I like to spend time with my husband and two teenage children, as well as my extended family (I have six siblings and an elderly mother). I also love to read and work in my yard.”
“I have worked at Sunrise for 10 years. My favorite part of my job is interacting with our residents and hearing their stories. I also very much enjoy meeting the family members. Working for Sunrise brings me personal satisfaction. I feel rewarded at the end of the day knowing that I have helped to champion the quality of life for our seniors.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Tom, as well as my two girls. I also love to garden, exercise and take my dog for long walks.”
"I have been with Sunrise for almost a year and have becoming a Care Manager and now Lead Care Manager in our Reminiscence Neighborhood. I love making connections with the residents. I am know for always having a big smile and trying to motivate my team to do their best. I am a Certified Medical Assistant and I am pursing a degree as a Registered Nurse.
Outside of Sunrise, I assist my mother with a foundation called 'We Need You', which helps stop violence in West Philadelphia and others the youth better opportunities for their future."
"I have been working with Sunrise for nearly five years. After growing up with my grandparents in rural Pennsylvania, I realized that I felt a special connection with seniors that I didn’t want to lose. I decided to look for a job where I could learn and grow while attending nursing school which I happily found here. I started as a Care Manager but have branched to Lead Care Manager, Medication Care Manager, Concierge, Life Enrichment Manager, the list goes on!
When I’m not at Sunrise, I enjoy hiking, meditating, crafting, and reading. My dog, Belladonna, goes everywhere with me. She has even come to work with me to brighten the days of so many seniors! I support the Alzheimer’s Association each year by attending the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Philadelphia. My goal is to continue ensuring the best quality of life for all seniors with Sunrise by hopefully becoming a Wellness Nurse when I graduate! It find it to be an absolute honor to spend time with people in the final chapters of life and couldn’t imagine my life any other way."
