“I have worked with Sunrise for 18 years. I have served in multiple positions including Assisted Living Coordinator and Reminiscence Coordinator. I love that I have the ability to interact with our residents, family members and team members on a daily basis, and hopefully make a difference in their lives. 

The best part of working at Sunrise is the ongoing commitment to our mission. That mission, and how it is fulfilled in our community every day, is what has kept me with Sunrise for so many years.

When I’m not working, my husband and I enjoy playing golf together. I am also an avid reader of mysteries.”

"I have worked for Sunrise since 2015. My career with Sunrise began after receiving my bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Services where I found my passion for working with seniors. I started as a Life Enrichment Manager, then grew to joining the sales team to help families find the best community for their loved ones.

Although I no longer work directly with residents, my favorite part of my job is knowing I am helping a family to find a new place for their loved one to call home. The best thing about working for Sunrise is how one can see our team members truly believe in our mission to Champion Quality of Life for All Seniors.

When I am not busy at work helping families or spending time with residents, you can find me outside playing with my puppy, traveling on the weekends, or spending time with my family."

“I have been with Sunrise for more than six years. Prior to my current position, I worked as a care manager, and was then promoted to lead care manager/medication technician.

My favorite part of my job is listening to our residents and families, knowing full well that I am able to make a positive impact in their lives. I feel lucky that I get to work with a wonderful set of team members who go above and beyond to support one another.

In my spare time, I like to exercise or visit friends.”

Reminiscence Coordinator

I’ve worked at Sunrise of Frederick for 9.5 years. Prior to Reminiscence Coordinator I served Sunrise as a Care Manager, House Keeper and the Activities Coordinator. I am also our team leader for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I have been the team leader for the past 5 years. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s Is very special to me, I take pride in every fundraiser we host and I am honored to Walk for our residents every October.

I enjoy every minute of every day that I spend at Sunrise with the residents and the Staff. I love seeing the smiles on our residents faces during our interactions but I would have to say my favorite thing is when the residents tell their stories, you wouldn’t believe how much I’ve learned from them and how hard they’ve made me laugh.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending my time with my kids.

"I have worked for Sunrise for 22 years. I have held many positions, including activities assistance, lead concierge, skilled nursing admissions coordinator, sales associate, A/R accounting assistant, and business manager. I enjoy visiting with residents and listening to the stories about their lives. I love making our residents smile by planning special events. Throughout the years, Sunrise has given me the opportunity to grow and develop my natural talents. I appreciate all I have learned from our residents and team members. I use this knowledge to help team members grown professionally and I enjoy being a positive mentor for them. 

In my spare time, I volunteer for the Maryland Army National Guard, FRG (Family Readiness Group). I enjoy various outdoor activities such as skiing, homesteading, horseback riding, camping and fishing. I also love to travel all over the world with my husband and our family."

Maintenance Coordinator

"I have worked as the Maintenance Coordinator for Sunrise for just over a year. Prior to working for Sunrise I worked as a maintenance manager for an aerospace company in the Frederick area for many years, while also still run a small home improvement and repair company on the side. Working for Sunrise has been a wonderful experience because not only do I have a job I enjoy, I also get to spend time getting to know all of our residents and their life stories, and even let some of them share some home improvement advice. Although the residents are the best part of my job, my favorite thing about Sunrise is their pet friendly policy, which allows me to have a chocolate lab as a maintenance assistant. 

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family especially my grandkids, playing with my 4 dogs, golfing, and fishing."
