Nicki Grudzinskas

Executive Director

“As executive director, I love seeing our residents thrive at Sunrise after helping families work through the difficult decision to move into a community. At Sunrise, I work alongside such an amazing group of caring individuals who each contribute to our mission each day.

I enjoy tennis, spending time with friends and family, and going to the beach in my free time.”

Nickkie Johnson

Resident Care Director

“I have about 13 years of experience in long-term care and 16 years total in nursing. My favorite part of my job is mentoring and helping shape other healthcare professionals which translates into quality care for the residents we serve. At Sunrise, there is a sense of family felt throughout the organization.

Outside of work, I love to scrapbook, shop, and travel.”

Debbie Chapla team member profile

Debbie Chapla

Business Office Coordinator

“I have 30+ years of experience in customer service, but what makes Sunrise different is the interaction I have with residents and their families. When I moved to Jacksonville from Pennsylvania, I left my family and friends behind. Sunrise became my family. The love and kindness (along with the many hugs) I receive on a daily basis is incredible.

When I’m not working, I love to ride my bike to the beach with my husband, Joe. We are beach people and enjoy anything that involves water, surf, and sand!”

Tracy Bass, Director of Sales

Tracy Bass

Director of Sales

“I worked in the airline industry for 20 years and retired to pursue a career in Senior Living. I started at Sunrise of Jacksonville as a Life Enrichment Manager and moved on to activities volunteer coordinator. Soon after, I landed as director of sales.

I enjoy having the privilege of helping families make such an important decision to take that next step into assisted living and watch their loved ones flourish in our community.

The best part of working at Sunrise of Jacksonville is the team; they are always ready to jump in and help with smiles and laughter.

I spend my spare time enjoying my family. We might go hiking, enter a local 5K or just spend the day at the beach!”

Rita Johnson, Reminiscence Coordinator

Rita Johnson

Reminiscence Coordinator

“I have worked with Sunrise of Jacksonville for about a month and a half now. Prior to Sunrise of Jacksonville, I have worked in other assisted living facilities as a care manager, a medical technician and a life enrichment coordinator. I have a bachelor’s degree in gerontology from the University of South Florida- GO BULLS! I’m also a certified dementia practitioner and a trainer for Alzheimer’s 1 and 2.

My favorite part of the job is actually stepping away from the desk to spending time with the residents. They sure know how to make you smile! I enjoy working for Sunrise because of the continued support I receive from the company through training and from my fellow team members.

In my spare time, I really enjoy spending time with my two children and crafting.”

Danny Gilland

Maintenance Coordinator

“I have been with Sunrise of Jacksonville for about five months, but I have been in maintenance in the healthcare industry for 15 years.

I love working with my hands and being able to make a difference with my talents. I love working at Sunrise because I am a part of a company that recognizes and values people.

In my spare time, I love enjoying time outdoors with my son whether at the beach or anywhere on the water.”

Michelle Cypranowski, Assisted Living Coordinator

Michelle Cypranowski

Assisted Living Coordinator

“My name is Michelle Cypranowski and I am the assisted living coordinator. I have been with Sunrise since 2004 where I spent most of my time with the company as an assisted living coordinator in Illinois. I relocated to Florida and have been the assisted living coordinator here, in Jacksonville, since May 2017.

My favorite part of my job is that not only do I get to help people every day, I also get to have fun. The best part of my day is usually every time one of our residents walks by my office, he tells me a joke to make me laugh. I look forward to it when he comes around the corner!

The best part about working for Sunrise of Jacksonville is that I can be proud of my job on a daily basis. Through the residents, families, management, and front line team, I am a part of something great. Throughout my time with the company, I have never been let down by the high standards of care or the attention the company places on its team members. I work with a great team who are all exceptional at what they do. We have great days and we have challenging days, but at the end of those days we are all here to support each other.

In my spare time I enjoy going to the beach or spending time at the pool with my two kids. I also make sure to spend time with my cocker spaniel, Molly who normally follows me around wherever I go.”

Hayley Stayman, Activities & Volunteer CoordinatorHayley Stayman

Activities & Volunteer Coordinator

“My name is Hayley Stayman and I am the activity and volunteer coordinator. I have been with Sunrise of Jacksonville since March of 2016 where I began as an activity and volunteer assistant. Prior to working at Sunrise I worked in a different senior living community in the business office and I graduated from Florida State University with a degree in music therapy in 2015.

I enjoy working in activities because each day is a little bit different and I love to reminisce with and hear stories from residents. I love Sunrise because every time I walk in the door, it is like I am home. The smell of fresh baked cookies and smiling faces are never hard to find.

In my spare time, I enjoy catching up with family and friends, participating in various musical ensembles around Jacksonville and volunteering with my church.”
