Jennifer GrayJennifer Gray

Executive Director

I have been in this industry for almost 10 years. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I was a school counselor prior to making the move to working with seniors. My favorite part of working with seniors is getting to know them and hearing their life stories. I am particularly fond of our Veterans and so grateful for their service to our great country. They have a special place in my heart.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with friends and family, shopping and cheering on the Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball team. Rock Chalk!

Resident Care Director

I have been with Sunrise of Lenexa since July 2019, and have 12 years of experience working in geriatrics. I have always been passionate about caring for seniors, and it shows in my work. It is important to me that all of my residents are cared for holistically: in their mind, body, and spirit. I am excited to be able to share my skills and passion with all of Sunrise.

My favorite part of my job is participating in each resident’s journey by offering my skills to make their lives comfortable as they age in place. It brings me joy to watch each of our seniors thrive in our community.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband Philip and our children. They are my biggest supporters and they motivate and encourage me every day. I also like to stay active by playing soccer and tennis.

Dining Services Coordinator

I became a member of the Sunrise Senior Living team in May 2009, and have over 40 years of experience in the culinary field. I have a passion for food and enjoy watching the joyous effects a delicious dish can have on our residents. The moment their eyes and taste buds meet with a smile is enough for my team to say “Yes! Together my team and I have many years of culinary experience and knowledge, and working together to serve our residents gives us pure pleasure. It is an honor to cook for the seniors of Sunrise of Lenexa.

Assisted Living Coordinator

I have been with Sunrise of Lenexa for almost 6 years. I started out with our community as a Lead CNA, and worked my way into this leadership role. I am passionate about serving my community and our residents with a positive attitude. The best part of my day is making each resident feel valued, and doing my part to continually promote the best quality of life for all seniors.

I believe that every day is a new journey, and I am honored to spend it with our residents. When I am not at Sunrise, I spend my time jogging, working out at the gym, and reading my Bible. At the end of the day, there is nothing better than coming home to my beautiful wife and 4 wonderful daughters.

Karen McCraryKaren McCrary

Reminiscence Coordinator

I started with Sunrise of Lenexa in November 2019. While I am new to Sunrise Senior Living, their pioneering work in quality of life and resident-centered care has always been a great influencer in my career. I enjoy seeing residents treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.

I have been in the senior living industry for the past 5 years. I began my career as a CNA, where I developed a passion for working with seniors. Through hard work and dedication, I worked my way up into an administrative position at a long term care facility. Supporting residents and their families through difficult transitions, with education and understanding, is my passion. I am excited for the opportunity to share my passion with the residents of Sunrise.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, writing, and spending time with my husband, 3 children (17, 14, 11), my wonderful friends and extended family, and of course, our dog and 3 cats.

Business Office Coordinator

I have over 11 years of experience working at Sunrise of Lenexa. My favorite part of the job is meeting new residents and watching the Sunrise family continue to grow. Our seniors truly have so much wisdom and history to share with us, and there is nothing better than getting to visit with them and listen to their stories. I learn something new from our residents every day.

Spending time with our residents and their families is what keeps me going. I also enjoy working closely with my fellow Sunrise team members, who are as passionate about caring for our residents as I am. I started with Sunrise of Lenexa in September 2019. Each day I support my team by overseeing and providing all aspects of maintenance and housekeeping. Before coming to Sunrise, I served at another senior living community as the maintenance director and bus driver for almost 4 years. My background prior to services in senior living include Operations Manager, and Sr. Engineer in telecommunications.

The best part of my job is making sure that every resident is comfortable and well taken care of. Each time I assist a resident, or fix something around the community, I know that I am making a difference in their lives.

When I am not at Sunrise, I enjoy fishing, playing pool, bowling, golfing, and spending time with friends. My greatest accomplishment has always been making new friends, and bringing joy into their lives.
