"I have worked in senior living since 2001. My background is in management of nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home care services, memory care, and continuing care retirement communities. Our team is hardworking and dedicated to serving our residents, so it's a privilege to work with such wonderful individuals! During my free time, I enjoy traveling, cooking, and spending time with my family."
"I have been in consultative sales and business development for 27 years. My focus for the last 10 years has been in the healthcare field. My career shift to Sunrise was inspired by her own mother’s need for assisted living and the way that the move to a beautiful Sunrise community in San Francisco changed my mom’s life and the lives of our family members. I enjoy helping other families with the transition to Sunrise and an improved quality of life. I am an artist in my spare time. I have a grown son and three beautiful grandchildren."
"Joining Sunrise of McLean a year ago as the Resident Care Director has been one of the best decisions I have made. I love taking care of the residents in a setting that feels more like home. Prior to joining the Sunrise team, I worked in skilled and rehab as well as specialty units with vents/dialysis patients. It truly brings me a sense of fulfillment knowing that I am able to provide support for those who are in their fragile state physically and mentally. Nursing is my passion. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, going on small trips, shopping and discovering new restaurants with different cuisines."
“I’ve had a joyful time working for Sunrise Senior Living. I first started in 1996. For more than one decade I worked in the Interior Design Department as a manager to beautify our Sunrise communities. My passion is always to make pleasant environments for our residents, and now for more than seven years I’ve had the privilege to serve residents, and make their life more comfortable by nurturing their mind, body and spirit through purposeful activities.
As activities and volunteer coordinator, I love talking with residents and hearing their life stories. I am passionate about providing quality activities to all seniors giving them my very best. In our Sunrise of McLean community, we love to enjoy music together. As a trained pianist I love playing the piano as the residents listen or sing along. Music is a big part of my life, especially when my children were young. We, as a family musical ensemble, traveled around Europe and the US to perform concerts and used music as a universal language to express kindness and joy.
I like to share this joy and kindness with the residents in planning activities in our community that include outings to Kennedy Center concerts, theaters, and other venues in the DC Metro area. It is my pleasure to be a part of the Sunrise Family. In my spare time I enjoy participating in my eleven grandchildren activities, teaching piano and traveling.”
"I migrated from Sierra Leone West Africa into the U S in 1989, my first job was in a historic hotel in old town Alexandria in 1990 as a line cook and while I was there I attended Nova to further my education in the culinary and hospitality management field.. Shortly after, I transitioned into a role as the banquet chef and then sous chef. In 1997, I joined the Sunrise team at the opening of a new community as a lead- cook and later moved to become the Dining Services Coordinator at Sunrise of Alexandria and then at Sunrise of McLean. My true passion has been in the culinary field and serving our wonderful seniors. I enjoy interacting our residents especially during our monthly Culinary meeting."
