Executive Director

"My career working with seniors began in 2004 when I started working in a local nursing home. I have had various positions working in skilled nursing, independent living, but found my true passion in assisted living. While I have had multiple positions one thing has remained constant and that is that bringing joy to seniors has always been my passion. I graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Health Science with a Concentration in Assisted Living Administration and have enjoyed having the opportunity to work in various departments of the community.

I started working for Sunrise in 2013 and have enjoyed working for several communities including most recently opening our Silas Burke House location. I love the comradery that Sunrise offers and have enjoyed developing close relations with residents, families and team members.

In my spare time, I enjoy traveling to scuba dive with my husband and especially love cheering on the Washington Capitals!"

"I am thrilled to join the Sunrise of McLean team as the new Director of Sales. Although I am new to the Sunrise family, I have served the Sunrise communities of Northern Virginia for the past 3 years in Home Health and Hospice. I enjoy meeting new families, hearing their stories and background and introducing them to the McLean team. I have over 15 years experience in the Healthcare industry as a Nurse, Director of Marketing and Sales and look forward to being a resource to new families. Born and raised just outside of Pittsburgh PA, where I studied Nursing at Indiana University of PA and continued my education at Northern Virginia Community College. 

I have resided in Leesburg, VA for the past 22 years where I enjoy spending time with my family. I loves dogs, being outdoors, wine tastings, Penguins hockey and Steelers football."

Activities and Volunteer Coordinator

“I’ve had a joyful time working for Sunrise Senior Living. I first started in 1996. For more than one decade I worked in the Interior Design Department as a manager to beautify our Sunrise communities. My passion is always to make pleasant environments for our residents, and now for more than nine years I’ve had the privilege to serve residents, and make their life more comfortable by nurturing their mind, body and spirit through purposeful activities. 

As activities and volunteer coordinator, I love talking with residents and hearing their life stories. I am passionate about providing quality activities to all seniors giving them my very best. In our Sunrise of McLean community, we love to enjoy music together. As a trained pianist I love playing the piano as the residents listen or sing along. Music is a big part of my life, especially when my children were young. We, as a family musical ensemble, traveled around Europe and the US to perform concerts and used music as a universal language to express kindness and joy.

I like to share this joy and kindness with the residents in planning activities in our community that include outings to Kennedy Center concerts, theaters, and other venues in the DC Metro area. It is my pleasure to be a part of the Sunrise Family. In my spare time I enjoy participating in my eleven grandchildren activities, teaching piano and traveling.”

"I started with Sunrise of McLean October 14, 2019. I have had the pleasure of working with the seniors in home health and hospice over the last 18 years in sales and marketing as well as other leadership roles.

The most rewarding part of my role is being a resource and guide for families in finding a friendly and supportive environment to call their new home.

The best part about working at Sunrise is the friendly and caring team members. Everyone is so welcoming and supportive to residents, families and other team members. I also love the opportunity to connect with the residents and their family members to provide the best Sunrise experience.

In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and visiting local wineries in the area."

"My journey of caring and serving my community started my career as a Nursing Assistant in a Nursing Home then a Graduate Nurse to RN at Providence Hospital. I have been an RN for 29 years with 12 years in Assisted Living. I previously worked for Sunrise 2008 – 2014. Being a nurse has afforded me the ability to use my knowledge, skills and experience to provide positive experiences and outcomes in delivering quality care. I look forward to serving our residents alongside my team.

I love spending time with my husband of 35 years and our two sons. I enjoy walking, biking, reading, HGTV, and I recently started a vegetable garden."

Maintenance Coordinator

"I recently joined Sunrise in August of 2020 as the Maintenance Coordinator. Everyday I am responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and comfortable environment for the residents. With over 40 years of Residential construction as my background I have working knowledge of building systems and related code requirements. I have enjoyed getting to know the residents and assisting them with whatever needs they may have.

I enjoy spending time with my family and cooking Italian food. I am a previous owner of two Italian restaurants and a catering company so cooking is something I do for fun and to relax."

Dining Services Coordinator

"I am the dining services coordinator. I lead our dining services team in preparing daily meals for our residents. And to ensure that our residents are served the best quality meals and provide with wonderful services. Being able to know the residents and interact with them is a very rewarding experience for me. And getting complemented by them is most gratifying feeling for me. In my spare time I enjoy gathering and cooking with friends and family and fishing."

"I have been working for sunrise for almost 8 years. I started as a care manager and am now the Wellness Nurse here at Sunrise of McLean. My position is great because I get to know and understand the residents, and their needs, better.

My favorite part of my job is that I am very close to the residents . They complement and thank me for all of the help that our great team and I provide. Knowing them is very touching and it continues to give me the motivation to come to work every day.

There are so many things that make working for Sunrise great. Sunrise opens the platform for team members to grow. It helps and supports employees who want to further their education. Sunrise has the best flexibility in terms of scheduling to match each employees daily routine and needs.

In my spare time, I am currently going to school to further my education. I have two wonderful kids, if I have time I like to take them for hiking or just a long drive it makes my day."

Business Office Coordinator

"I have been with Sunrise since 2006 as the Business office coordinator. My responsibilities include assisting the community with business administration, human resources and system related business processes. I help collect and review information needed to assist in proper billing of Residents as well as processing payroll for all Team Members.

I love working with the residents and family members and being involved in their lives. When I came to sunrise in 2006, I was blown away by the care and compassion the Team members exhibited. I never saw anything like it at any other place of employment.

In my spare time, I enjoy relaxing, cooking and having fun with my girls."
