At Sunrise of Monterey, CA, our dining team works hard to please our residents. Located on the Monterey Bay and near the Salinas Valley, our residents enjoy a wide variety of seafood and fresh produce, including a resident favorite: fresh Monterey Bay fish.
Our community is proud to have Luis Miranda as our dining services coordinator. Luis was born in Peru, and comes from a family of restaurant owners and a long line of professional chefs. Luis spent his childhood helping his grandmother in the kitchen, and relocated to Southern California at age 19. He received his culinary arts certificate and has worked for years at different restaurants throughout California’s Inland Empire. He says that working as a chef in the assisted living industry allows him to make a difference in the lives of seniors in his community, and to honor his grandmother, who passed away from Alzheimer’s disease.
The most requested dishes at our community are anything Mexican. The residents adore enchiladas and quesadillas. Kosher Franks come in at a close second!
