“Since joining the Sunrise of Morris Plains team in 2009, I have worked in many different roles, including concierge, activities & volunteer coordinator, and Reminiscence coordinator. Working in a variety of roles has allowed me to understand the community from many different angles, which has been beneficial in my current position as executive director.
In 2014, I was awarded the Joy in Service award at our Leadership Conference in San Diego. I really appreciate being recognized for my work here since I truly do find joy in the work we do at Sunrise. I love establishing connections with each resident; residents become family, which makes coming in to work even more special. Each day, I have the opportunity to try and improve our residents’ quality of life, which is very meaningful.
In my spare time I enjoy exercising, reading, and spending time with family and friends.”
"I have been with Sunrise since 2006 doing what I love best. Since transferring from Randolph to Morris Plains, I did not relent on ensuring that my residents have the utmost care they deserve. I have served in different capacities from a care manager to a Medication aide, Lead care manager, Reminiscence Supervisor, and finally, as a Reminiscence Coordinator.
My dedication, devotion, and hard work in serving our residents, led me to Orlando, Florida to receive the Joy in Service award during a ceremony at a Leadership Conference held in Florida. The award really made me felt appreciated for the joy in service I render to our lovely residents.
The best part of my life that makes me feel good is going home and feeling that I have had a positive impact on our residents. A situation which makes me wanting to come to work every day just for someone’s life to be better."
