"I began my career with Sunrise Senior Living as the Executive Director of our Northgate community in 2017.  As a seasoned Director in the industry it is refreshing to work for a company who truly focuses on resident care and team member growth.  Northgate is a community whose core competency is supporting residents with cognitive issues.  This has been a lifelong passion for me and I love being able to share this with those around me.  My approach has always been one of validating the person in front of me no matter what the struggle may be.   

The best part of working for Sunrise is educating families and team members in the complicated and often confusing path of how to support those with cognitive impairment.

Family is the most important thing to me so when I’m away from my community, I am typically spending time with them.  I enjoy movies, music and consider myself an amateur novelist. I also enjoy supporting several charities that support older adults and animals."

"I am an Occupational Therapist with over twenty years of experience working with seniors and their families. In addition, I have been a source of support and guidance as a Senior Housing and Care Consultant in the Seattle area. My family has walked through dementia with both my Father and my Aunt. Due to this, I have a deep understanding of what families are going through.

The most rewarding parts of my work are collaborating with families as they navigate through the overwhelming journey of transitioning to memory care. In addition, I love getting to know all the residents and learning their life stories.

When I am not at work, you will find me spending time with family and friends, reading, traveling and watching the Seahawks."

“I am a Registered Nurse, BSN. My first interaction with Sunrise was as an outside provider when working with a Home Health Care/Hospice company. I witnessed firsthand the warm, supportive care being offered to the residents from the Sunrise team. After observing this for many years I pursued a role with this wonderful company and began my career as Resident Care Director in March 2019.

The best part of working at Sunrise is getting the chance to know and care for our residents and families. I am able to walk beside them during their journey, provide care and educate others along the way.

When I am not at work, I am usually with family and friends enjoying outdoor activities such as hiking/backpacking, camping, skiing and sailing. I love a good book, and I have always been an animal lover.”

“I was born in Ethiopia but came to America in 2001. At the age of 17, I joined the Job Corp while finishing high school and then went to business school. I knew I wanted to do something different and started searching for other options.

I started my career with Sunrise in 2008 as a Care Manager. Four years later, I was trained and became a Med Care Manager. I have always believed in treating all residents and family members like they are part of my family. Working with residents who struggle with memory loss has taught me to enjoy the little moments in life, be patient, and always be understanding and empathetic.

During my free time, I enjoy reading self-help books that challenge me to grow and become a better version of myself.”

Reminiscence Coordinator

"I started my career with Sunrise Senior Living as a care manager in 2014. In 2017, I was promoted to Reminiscence Coordinator and transferred to our Northgate community. 

The part of my job that I consider my favorite is taking care of our seniors and supporting my team. I also enjoy learning about our residents, their achievements, and their life stories. Lastly, I love having the opportunity to grow my career with Sunrise. 

In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, reading, listening to music, and discovering new places for the best breakfast."

"I started my career at Sunrise Senior Living in the spring of 2017 as an Activities Assistant and became the Activities and Volunteer Coordinator in the fall of 2018.

I find joy in exploring the different possibilities, creating opportunities, and witnessing moments in our residents’ day to day lives where they find fulfilment and flourish in our community. It is incredibly rewarding to be working with our seniors, especially in getting to know each one of them and learning their life stories.

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time outdoors going on bike rides and hikes, camping, reading, and traveling."

"I joined the Sunrise team in 2013 as a cook at our Lynnwood community. After a short time, I transferred to the Northgate community where I was promoted to Dining Services Coordinator. 

Sunrise has allowed me to showcase my passion for cooking and customer service. I'm excited to come to work every day -- it's like coming home to my favorite friends and family. I'm proud to be part of this team and part of the mission we stand by when it comes to care for our residents.

In my spare time, I enjoy teaching French, going to the gym, hiking with my dog, and exploring all great dog parks in the PNW."
