"I have over 15 years of experience working with seniors. As a company, Sunrise takes pride in the care it provides to seniors and is a pioneer of Assisted Living. I’m proud to be employed by a company that values its employees and residents so much. It is a very rewarding job helping families find a caring home for their loved one. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to offer families peace of mind knowing their loved one’s specific individual needs are being met in an environment with the comforts of home. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories as they inspire me to work my hardest to ensure their lives continue to be fulfilling as they age.
Outside of work, I stay busy spending time with my husband, 2 wonderful children and our dog. We love to travel and enjoy the outdoors. When we aren’t busy with school and extra-curricular activities you might find us in the mountains hiking, snowboarding and skiing and during the warm weather months in the water or on the lake with our jet skis."
"As a small child, I was always with seniors, I have been blessed to grow up in a senior neighborhood. My grandmother would wake my siblings and I up every Saturday around 6am during the summer months so that we could assist with lawn care. We would cut grass, pull weeds, trim hedges, and water the lawns, flowers, and the gardens in the neighborhood. We had to run errands and help to care for anyone who was sick, when I was young growing up there were no questions asked we did what we were told. We honored and loved our neighbors. We helped those in need, whether they were sick, tired, or just wanted assistance. Growing up in this environment prepared me to care for those in need and to love and show respect for as many people as I meet.
I joined the Sunrise team in August 2007, from the moment I stepped into Sunrise of North Hills I knew I was in the right place. I have served in many different roles while being employed with Sunrise Senior Living: I have served our seniors as a care manager, medication technician, lead care manager, Reminiscence Supervisor, Reminiscence Coordinator and currently Assisted Living Coordinator. My goal is to continue to grow with Sunrise and continue to serve and have a positive impact on the lives of others.
I love to spend family time with my active 11 year old son and my many nieces and nephews, they keep me laughing and on the go. My sister is my best friend, we spend time together daily and always reminisce about our childhood and the wonderful women that shaped our lives, our grandmother and mother."
“I’ve been dedicated to Sunrise of Raleigh for 18 years. I’ve never felt like my role at Sunrise is just a job—for me, it’s about providing residents with purposeful experiences that focus on their social, mental, physical and spiritual well-being.
What excites me most about working with residents is the opportunity to help produce positive outcomes, contentment, and to hopefully change lives from those experience. There is nothing more rewarding than serving at a community like Sunrise, where the principles of service, love and compassion are demonstrated every day. "After culinary school, I never imagined I would be cooking for and serving seniors. Now, it is my lifelong passion. It’s really satisfying to improve our residents’ days with a great meal. My favorite part of each day is talking with our residents and getting their opinions and insights on our food and service.

"I have always worked with my hands for as long as I can remember, my father taught my brothers and I how to build and repair things by hand. My mother and father instilled respect for others in us, and made sure that we worked for what we wanted in life. As a child growing up in New York City my mother would instruct my brothers and I to shovel driveways in the winter to help our elderly neighbors, we would also run errands for those who were not able to get out of their homes. My father would have us to help our elderly neighbors with painting their homes and handrails, repairing fences, cleaning their stoops off and helping with lawn care. I’ve worked majority of my life in serving others. I have always had I great respect for people especially seniors.
I started my Sunrise career in December 2013 as the Maintenance Assistant at North Hills. I have been the Maintenance Coordinator at Sunrise of Raleigh for over 3 years now. I enjoy the service I perform for others. I have met residents who enjoyed working with their hands as much as myself, I always learn there is an easier way to do something from them. I love talking to my residents and learning about their lives, there is always something very interesting that captivates me. I can only pray that when or if I’m ever in need I will have people to look out for me like the caring team members of Sunrise of Raleigh."
"I began my career with Sunrise Senior Living in 2011 as a Care Manager and Medication Care Manager. These positions motivated me to go back to school to become a LPN. I graduated in 2014 and have been a Wellness Nurse ever since.
My favorite part of being a Wellness Nurse is taking care of my residents and involving family and friends in their care. Nursing is a profession I truly relish, albeit difficult at times when I see my residents struggle with their health, but I’m always there as a source of support, compassion and love.
I have found my niche in life, and for that, I am eternally grateful."
“I started at Sunrise of Raleigh in 1996 as a dining room supervisor and a weekend cook. I love my job because serving seniors brings me joy. Being able to contribute to making someone smile every day is the best reward I could ask for. Not only do I love my residents, but I have the best team of amazing people around me that have made the last 23 years outstanding. One of my favorite memories was spending the night at Sunrise because of inclement weather. We all worked so hard to ensure everyone in the community still had the care needed despite the storm.
Over the years I have been awarded, "Employee Of The Month," "Employee of the Year," "Ms. Sunrise," and have been called “Ms. Wonderful” by one of our Sunrise’s family members. My most proud moment was when the state inspector recognized my devotion to the residents and sent a letter to our Executive Director at the time to say thank you for my hard work.
Twenty-three years may seem like a long time to some, but it has gone by in the blink of an eye and I wouldn’t change it for anything. Working for Sunrise has been the best decision of my life!”
