Meet the Sunrise of Sabre Springs Team

Executive Director

Jessica has worked as an Executive Director for Sunrise Senior Living for over 4 years. With more than 20 years of industry experience in various leadership roles, she is honored to have served thousands of seniors residing in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. Born and raised in San Diego, Jessica has a strong passion for service, and she is an advocate for anything beneficial for resident care, safety, and overall quality of life. Jessica has a strong belief that all team members in the community hold a vital role and she is passionate in leading and developing a work force that takes great pride in providing high quality service that has a long-lasting impact on the lives of seniors and their families. Jessica holds a current Administrator license and is a Member of the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. She also attended UCSD to receive her certificate in Geriatric Activities.

In her free time, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family, traveling with her grandson Bug, singing old show tunes, and dancing with her granddaughter Ella. You can catch her listening to her favorite band Blue October and spoiling her best fur baby, a 14 year old chihuahua named Paco.

"Senior living is a second career that I came to through the personal experience of finding a senior community for my mom. I can relate to what families go through during this transition and I strive to be a trusted advisor and resource. I truly enjoy getting to know seniors and their families and it gives me great satisfaction helping them find their next home. Previously, I was a design director in the fashion industry, where I built brands, lead teams and conducted business around the world.

In my free time, I volunteer as a community educator for the Alzheimer’s Association and am a member of Toastmasters. I have a passion for being in nature hiking, biking or drawing. I am an avid traveler and a lifelong learner."

“Prior to joining Sunrise Senior Living, I worked in an assisted living and memory care community as a medication technician. I started working as an assisted living and memory care coordinator in 2010. I received a recognition award from CALA: California Assisted Living Association for Outstanding Services to the Residents.

I work with passion and respect and care deeply about my residents and team members. The best part of my job is helping promote residents’ independence and encouraging them to maintain their optimal functionality.”

"I have been with two Sunrise Senior Living Communities over the past two years. I earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University San Marcos and completed an undergraduate internship with Alzheimer’s San Diego. My education and experiences have allowed me to develop skills and insight into the aging process.

My life’s passion is helping others, specifically those who deserve the upmost respect as they continue their retirement at our beautiful community. During my free time, I enjoy being at the beach, hiking local trails, and camping."

"I am new to Sunrise and the San Diego area, but have been a nurse since 2014 and was a medic in the U.S. Army prior to becoming a nurse. I have a passion for caring for seniors and helping them to maintain their health and wellbeing. When I am not working I enjoying hiking, beachcombing, and spending time with my family."

"I have been in healthcare for over 20 years. I have experience in skilled nursing and hospital settings. My experience includes being a 1 on 1 private caregiver, CNA and medication care manager. Having a diverse background in various areas has helped me grow and given me tools in my new position. I was in Sunrise's Coordinator in Training program and recently was promoted to a coordinator. I value my team and pride myself on being a servant leader. I love my residents and families.

During my free time, I love spending time with my family. My mom, pop, husband and two children are my world."

“I am originally from Long Island, New York and am happy to relocate to San Diego to join the Sunrise of Sabre Springs team. I have enjoyed working at Sunrise since 2014. It’s great to be a part of something that I truly believe in; Sunrise takes excellent care of the residents and team members.

I have a background in French Mediterranean cooking. I enjoy incorporating the basics of those styles into home-style and fusion cooking. I have experience as a chef working in restaurants in Long Island, Manhattan, Connecticut, and California. My favorite dish to cook is paella, and my favorite cookbook is Cook’s Ingredients.

When I’m not working I enjoy, surfing, biking, hiking, and exploring new foods and flavors at farmers markets and restaurants. I look forward to opening this building and using my talents in this brand new, state-of-the-art kitchen.”

"I have been working in the senior living industry for over 10 years now, both skilled nursing and assisted living. I graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in business administration and marketing, so the beginning of my work career was sales. After staying home and raising my six children for many years I knew when I was ready to enter the workforce again where I wanted to be. I followed my heart and started as an activity/social service director, which eventually landed me here at Sunrise! I feel I have the perfect job! It keeps me busy and very active but I love the residents and making them happy!

When I am not at work you can usually find me with my growing family, as next year I will be blessed with my third grandchild! I also like to cook, bake, camp, walk, dance, the beach, mountains, friends, and biking."

"I had my start in the health care industry as a certified nurse assistant for 3 years before joining Sunrise Senior Living. Prior to Sunrise, I supplemented my goals of working in applied sciences by working part time as a nurse assistant and home health caregiver while earning my Associate's Degree in physics. Although my professional goals were initially towards physical science applications, I discovered my passion in providing care for seniors through my part time work experiences.

In 2016, I became a part of the Sunrise of Sabre Springs team as our concierge and eventually driver. While being with Sunrise, I've enhanced my passion of serving seniors by working with several departments within our community. I am now studying Healthcare Administration at National University in efforts to better serve our residents and community. Being a part of Sunrise has given me the wonderful experiences that come with championing the quality of life for our residents."

"I have been in the industry for 8 years and most of my experience is in skilled nursing. I have worked in several other buildings in the area and I love learning something new everyday. I appreciate Sunrise their training process, and their mission. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, playing soccer and spending time with family. I love working on cars as well!"
