Our front line team has a combined 311 years of service at Sunrise. We’re excited introduce you to a few of the team members who make Sunrise of West Bloomfield, MI such a wonderful place to live!
Sunrise of West Bloomfield is proud to have Michelle Bojaj as their Associate Director of Operations/Executive Director. Michelle exemplifies the Sunrise credo and spirit of giving in her interactions with our residents, families and team members.
Michelle brings over 14 years of Sunrise experience to the West Bloomfield community and lives the standard that she sets for her team as a true steward of Sunrise, inside and out, always putting everyone else first.
Michelle is the proud mother of two beautiful children, Martin & Nina and is happily married to Tony.
"I began my career with Sunrise Senior Living in 2014 when my mother moved into Brighton Gardens of Northville. During my tour I was so impressed with what I was seeing and hearing I knew it would be a great fit for my mother, but I also knew I wanted to be a part of the organization and I asked the Director of Sales how I could get a job with Sunrise.
I was the Sales Assistant at Brighton Gardens of Northville for over 4 years before moving to the West Bloomfield community as the Director of Sales. When I’m not spending time with my Sunrise family I enjoy cooking and entertaining at home. My husband Tim and I enjoy riding our bikes through Hines Drive, the historic homes area of Dearborn and hanging out with our 3 children, twin grandsons and 2 dogs.
Becoming a part of the Sunrise family has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. Every day is a pleasure meeting and assisting families and their loved ones."
"I started with Sunrise of West Bloomfield in June of 2018 as the Assisted Living/Reminiscence supervisor. I came to Sunrise seeking growth and opportunity, since then I have entered the EDIT program and have become the Associate Executive Director in conjunction with the Resident Care Coordinator role. While maintaining my family of five, with four sons, I have made it my purpose to harness what it means to "Champion the quality of life for all Seniors". I take pride in the Sunrise mission and appreciate how that quality is the cornerstone of all that we do here at Sunrise."
"I started my career at Sunrise of Shelby Township in 2006 as a cook, in 2012 I was promoted to lead cook and in 2019 I was hired as the Dining Service Coordinator for Sunrise of West Bloomfield.
My favorite part of my job is preparing meals and seeing the smiles on our residents faces. I enjoy learning what our residents favorite dishes are and how they were prepared and make as a "Chef's Choice" to make them feel more at home.
In my spare time I enjoy spending my days with my daughters London and Mariah, our favorite activities are biking, fishing and walking along the Detroit River Walk."
"I joined Sunrise in 2012 and have held various jobs from care manager, life enrichment manager to Wellness Nurse. I have recently enrolled in school to achieve my Bachelors of Science in Nursing.
I love spending time caring for our residents and getting to know them and their personal history.
I spend most of my spare time with my family and friends."
“Since joining the Sunrise of West Bloomfield team I’ve learned that this isn’t just a job or a career, it’s a way of life. The culture at Sunrise is different…there is a family atmosphere that cannot be ignored. Our staff members are caring, attentive, knowledgeable and professional. I am often moved when I see our care managers engage with a resident, they work hard to make sure everyone is comfortable and happy. I made a commitment when I was hired that I would do my best every day, to help keep our residents happy, healthy and safe. I’m proud to be a part of this team and I enjoy working for such a wonderful company.”
Peter was adopted February 27, 2017 from Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue.
Peter is part boxer, beagle, and lab. Peter was abused and came from Ohio when he was 2 years old.
While working with Peter, he chewed up a few things and had accidents. He turned out to be a wonderful Sunrise dog and has learned several tricks.
He spends most days visiting residents for his daily treats and hugs while showing off his tricks. He also has been known to sleep in our resident’s bed with them. He is loved by all, even other dogs who visit their loved ones.
