Meet some of the members of our team here at Sunrise of Willowbrook, Illinois.
As the Executive Director of Sunrise of Willowbrook, Eric is the leader of our beautiful community. Always advocating for his residents, Eric demonstrates his compassion for seniors every day. You will often find him pouring coffee in the dining room or sitting with a resident to listen to a treasured story.
Eric began his career in healthcare as a certified nursing assistant more than 13 years ago. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in community health from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL, and he also is a Certified Dementia Practitioner.
When Eric is not supporting his residents at Sunrise of Willowbrook, he loves to spend his free time with his wife, Linda, and their new daughter, Madison.
“Erika joined the world of senior care in 2014, and is so excited to be a part the Sunrise team! Erika’s Granny struggled with Alzheimer’s disease in the late ‘90s, and it was that experience that made her want to help coordinate better care for seniors.
You will usually find Erika’s office door open as she is happy to have residents and family members stop by to say hello, or ask questions. Erika has experience in assisted living, as well as skilled nursing facility care and she is happy to help answer any questions that you might have. Erika is originally from Southern California but relocated to Illinois in 2015.
When she is not at Sunrise she enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, Dude and Nator. She enjoys cooking, and is always looking for new recipes!”
Tim started as the Maintenance Coordinator at Sunrise of Willowbrook in 2016 after hearing great things about the company and how the residents are treated. He joined the Sunrise team with almost 20 years of maintenance experience, including HVAC certification.
Tim is the smiling face who is always happy to lend a helping hand, move something heavy and reach something no one else can reach. He takes pride in keeping a safe and beautiful home for our residents. The most enjoyable part of his position is interacting with the residents. He loves to learn from their life experiences.
When he’s not working, Tim uses his single engine pilot’s license!
Orion has been working with Sunrise for nine years. His favorite part of the job is creating wonderful meal experiences for the Sunrise residents.
At Sunrise, everybody is always helping each other; teamwork is an essential part of each day and it is the best part of working for Sunrise.
In his spare time, Orion enjoys watching all kinds of sports, spending time with his wonderful wife and two little kids and vacationing overseas.
Tamika is new to the Sunrise community and has been working at Sunrise since September 2017. She has had previous experience with the senior population in a sheltered workshop environment. In this role, she was a service coordinator supervisor and was in charge of programming and community integration for seniors.
Her favorite part of the job is the relationships that she gets to build with Sunrise residents. There is an abundance of knowledge and wisdom under one roof and she is honored to be in their presence.
The best part of working for Sunrise is the opportunity to work there everyday.
“Dude joined the Sunrise team with his human mom, Erika. He has been a registered emotional support animal since December of 2014, and he loves brightening people’s days!
While he may seem shy, Dude really enjoys being our pet and especially playing a game of fetch! Dude listens to everyone, and is happy to visit you and your family. If you stop by Erika’s office, she can offer a leash to bring him to your loved one’s room, or she can accompany you and Dude. Pets and treats are wagginly welcomed!”
