“I have worked with Sunrise since 2015 but started working as a senior caregiver when I was 17.
I truly love every aspect of my job: Working with my team of great care managers, coaching and guiding them to be the best that can be in care and in life; being able to talk and interact with our residents and family members on a daily basis; and being able to run an efficient assisted living department that provides the best quality of care. Sunrise is like a second family to me.
Everyone at Sunrise has same goal in mind, and that is “To champion quality of life to all seniors.” I can say with certainty that every team member at Sunrise of Wilmington has that frame of mind!
In my spare time I like to sleep, go to the gym, and attend dining events. I am a big foodie!!”
“I have worked at Sunrise since 2008 but have had the pleasure of working with seniors as a Certified Nursing Assistant since 1989. In 2010, I was awarded Caregiver of the Year from the State of Delaware.
My passion is working with residents who are suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia. One of the best aspects of my job is working directly with the seniors; they have taught me so much about life and about myself. I also have the privilege of being a facilitator for the Alzheimer’s Association and we hold a support group the third Tuesday of every month. This allows me to connect with family members who are coping with these difficult times.
In my spare time, I am a comfort creature kind of a gal who likes to pamper herself with shopping and massages.”
“In addition to serving as the Dining Services Coordinator, I am also a Cluster Leader and help to support seven area Sunrise communities in the surrounding Pennsylvania region.
I am a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and worked locally at the Hotel DuPont for 15 years. I was also an Executive Chef for Fieldstone Golf Club and the Sodexo, Aramark and Compass Group corporations. As the Executive Chef for Gate Gourmet of Dulles Virginia Airport, my team produced 15,000 to 20,000 meals a day for 19 different International Airlines.
I take great pride in helping to produce delicious ‘home cooked’ meals for our residents here at Sunrise of Wilmington. Another great aspect of working for Sunrise is the work-life balance that enables me to spend with my wife, Lori, and almost 4-year-old daughter, Chloe.
In my spare time, I enjoy tropical vacations with my family, playing golf and listening to Jimmy Buffett. I also enjoy cooking for my friends and family at home.”
