Kristen Roasa team member profile

Kristen Roasa

Executive Director

“I have been with Sunrise for seven years.  I have worked in assisted living communities since 2001 and I was a Reminiscence Coordinator for three years before coming to Sunrise on the Scioto.

I enjoy making a positive impact in our residents’ lives. Sunrise has a great mission and philosophy. Seeing the impact that quality care has on our seniors is phenomenal.

In my spare time, I am always with my family.  We love to be outside!  Fishing, camping and bonfires are just a few things that we enjoy.”

Ray Tyo

Director of Sales

“I joined Sunrise of Bexley in the spring of 2012.  As director of sales, I love speaking to families about our community and establishing the trust to allow me to be a resource during their time of transition.

Being the father of two teenagers keeps me pretty busy, but in my spare time, I enjoy working out and volunteering as an announcer for a baseball league for children with special needs.”

Kelsey Hay team member profile

Kelsey Hay

Lead Care Manager

“After five years of serving here at Sunrise on the Scioto, I have developed close relationships with my fellow Sunrise team members. At work, I’m able to be myself and have fun with my Sunrise family. Throughout the years, I have enjoyed engaging with the residents and building lifetime bonds with them.

When I’m not at work, I like spending time with my children and family.”

Suzanne Dennewitz team member profile

Suzanne Dennewitz

Wellness Nurse

“I have prior experience with the elderly through working at Berger Hospital in Circleville, Ohio, as a patient care technician for three years and experience working home health as an aid for two years. I also assisted my grandmother in the care of my grandfather before his passing in 2009.

My favorite part of my job is giving our residents a purpose in life. They share stories with me about their prior professions, how they raised their children and what their everyday life was when they were young. At the end of the day when I go home, I feel satisfied that I did everything I could to make my residents happy and comfortable.

At Sunrise, we have a team of employees who are amazing at what they do. They genuinely care about the residents; they look out for their best interests and are always willing to speak up and advocate for them.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend, my 8-year-old son, my 4-year-old son, my 11-year-old stepdaughter and our new 4-month-old Great Dane puppy. We like to go out for ice cream and visit the park. Most of the time, we really just like to lounge around the house and cook out on the grill, pop some popcorn and turn on a good family movie.”

Janine Taylor team member profile

Janine Taylor

Head of housekeeping

“For the past 10 years, I’ve had the opportunity to make a difference in our seniors’ lives here at Sunrise on the Scioto. Our residents are like family members.  When they hurt, we hurt.  And small actions – such as a hug – can make a huge impact.

I love it when our residents tell us about their lives.  THEY make Sunrise on the Scioto the charming, loving, fun place it is.  We care so much about them, and they care about us just as much.  I am blessed.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy gardening and spending time with my granddaughter.”

Connie Hughes, Activities CoordinatorConnie Hughes

Activities Coordinator

“I have been with Sunrise for four years. Time flies when you have as much fun as I do. I have the best job at Sunrise being the activities coordinator. I’m the fun lady!

The best part of my job is seeing the seniors connect in our community, and adventure in our activities here at Scioto.

I enjoy interior decorating, spending time on the river on our family stern wheeler boat, and spending quality time with my two grand kids!”

Kristen Taormina, Sales AssistantKristen Taormina

Sales Assistant

“I have always had a passion for the elderly and I have a servant’s heart. I enjoy meeting the families and their loved ones and helping them establish their home here in our Sunrise community. I believe in the mission, principles, and core values of Sunrise and it is a privilege and honor to work here. I love coming to work every day.

I have four beautiful children and my oldest daughter is about to bless me with my first grandson. We love to spend time as a family and with family, be it going to fairs, bonfires, or just hanging out. My passion is reading and if given a full day off, I could finish an entire book.”
