Occupational Therapy Students Visit The Quadrangle
Recently, our residents were involved in a 10-week intergenerational learning program with occupational therapy (OT) doctoral students from the University of the Sciences. Assistant Professor Adele Breen-Franklin OTD, JD, OTR/L (daughter-in-law of Quadrangle resident Claire Franklin) was inspired to launch this program when she recognized that there are very few OT intergenerational clinical rotations. Breen-Franklin worked with Janet Salerno, Director of the Independent Living and Wellness Center in order to introduce the Generation to Generation Project.
Eighteen students visited The Quadrangle to practice and receive critique on their bedside manner and conversational techniques. Our residents looked forward to seeing the students each week, and the students built meaningful connections with our seniors. Our residents recently hosted a breakfast to wish the students luck as they continue their studies. We are all looking forward to working with a new group of students next semester!
The Quadrangle Library

On Saturday January 11, the Quadrangle Library celebrated its 25th Anniversary with an elegant Tea Party patterned after the Tea that early residents gave to celebrate its opening. In addition to enjoying the lovely ambience and the wonderful food prepared by the Quadrangle Dining Services, over 100 guests viewed an exhibit of books published in l989 and toured the library. The Quadrangle Library, the centerpiece of the community, has over 10,000 volumes, is run by residents and is open 24 hours a day.
