Moving Forward, Together

After persevering through a challenging year, we’re moving forward together and welcoming brighter days.

Thanks to our rising COVID-19 vaccination rates, fully vaccinated residents can start enjoying more community activities and expanded visitation, subject to applicable guidelines as they evolve, including:

  • Welcoming in-suite visits from fully vaccinated loved ones
  • Spending time together in community common areas and socializing with other residents who are fully vaccinated
  • Enjoying day trips outside of the community without having to be on strict quarantine upon their return
  • Participating in a larger variety of activities and group dining

In addition, many of our communities are now conducting in-person tours and evolving our move-in protocols for fully vaccinated prospective residents.

Sunrise Vaccination Program

We have taken the important step of introducing vaccinations as a required and essential job function for all community team members. We expect all community team members to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no later than July 31, subject to applicable laws and Sunrise policies.

Phased Resumption of Operations Plan

We continue to carefully evolve our approach to resume operations as circumstances and applicable guidelines permit. We’re committed to helping our residents maintain connections with friends and family and continue to enjoy all that they love about life at Sunrise.

Below is an overview of each phase of our resumption of operations plan. You can also download a guide to learn more about each phase.

Phase Three:

  • In-suite visits from friends and family members
  • Dining room capacity increased to 50 percent with socially distanced requirements maintained
  • Limited community entertainers, other than singers, permitted in all neighborhoods with strict social distancing protocols in place

Phase Two:

  • Additional socially distanced small-group programming, such as scenic van rides and cooking clubs
  • Scheduled access to community amenities, which may include the library, gym, and game rooms
  • Small-group clergy services and discussions

Phase One:

  • Socially distanced dining in community common areas
  • Outdoor, socially distanced small-group programming
  • In-suite visits from Essential Caregivers* and scheduled, socially distanced, outdoor visitation with friends and family

Restricted Operations: Communities in this phase have active cases of COVID-19 or community members exhibiting symptoms of the virus.

  • Infection control protocols remain in place
  • Residents self-quarantine in their suites
  • Meals are delivered to residents in their suites
  • Team members provide safely conducted 1:1 programming in residents’ suites
  • Regular Suite Stops and Hydration Stops take place throughout the day
  • Residents may connect with loved ones through phone calls, FaceTime, or Skype

Please know that we weigh these steps carefully. Things can change quickly in our current environment, which may impact our operations, and we ask for your continued understanding of the extraordinary circumstances that surround us all.

It is also important to remember that each community’s specific Phase One, Two, and Three plans may vary based on local area regulations, restrictions, and other factors.
