May 6–12 is National Nurses Week! This year’s theme is “Nurses: Inspire, Influence, Innovate.” To celebrate, we are recognizing six nurses, nominated by the Sunrise Care team, who demonstrate these virtues in our communities every day.
Ini Pusey is a senior resident care director in the northern Virginia region, and she’s been with Sunrise for nine years! Ini has been selected as a nurse who influences—has an effect on the character, behavior, or development of others.
Ini is a vital source of support for our communities’ nurses, helping them to deliver the best possible care to residents. She dedicates remarkable effort to training other nurses so that they understand the Sunrise mission and can skillfully manage the many scenarios that they will encounter while caring for residents.
Even when her duties have been fulfilled, Ini continues to make herself available to team members who are in need of guidance and leadership. She even sometimes supports nurses who work outside her region!
In addition to working with and helping her Sunrise family, Ini enjoys spending time with her husband of 15 years and their two children, Kyle and Anna.
“Her strong belief in Sunrise, strength of character, and ethical nature has influenced not only nurses she has worked with, but also other team members in the communities she has supported,” says Kim Morton, regional director of Resident Care. “Sunrise is lucky to have such an incredibly talented and committed nurse as Ini Pusey.”
The entire Sunrise family is grateful for the tireless dedication and influential spirit of nurses like Ini. Thanks for all that you do! Meet the rest of our 2018 Nurses Week winners on The Sunrise Blog.
