Executive Director

“I worked in a five-diamond hotel for 10 years before making my career change to the senior living industry. This opportunity has provided me great experience in customer satisfaction and leadership. I recently made a move from Sunrise of Holladay in Utah to California to join the Sunrise of Burlingame team. 

My favorite part about working for Sunrise Senior Living is interacting with my residents, and seeing my team members’ work alongside our residents get to know them. I know each team member has a crucial role in each resident’s life. I also love being able to visit with residents throughout my day and hear about the lives they have lived. 

In my spare time, I enjoy the great outdoors and exploring new territories in the Bay Area.  I also enjoy spending time in the water wakeboarding and soaking in the warm sun.  Any opportunity I have to get on a plane and explore a new corner of the world, I’ll take it.”

Resident Care Director

"I worked as a registered nurse for San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living, a skilled nursing facility, before joining Sunrise of Burlingame. I have an undergraduate degree in Nursing and a Master's degree in Gerontology.

My favorite part about working as Resident Care Director is being able to work directly with residents and their families – providing me an opportunity to have positive influence in their lives.

Sunrise has a great team, and I enjoy being part of it. I love talking with my residents and hearing their stories.

In my spare time, I enjoy exploring restaurants and trying different food around the Bay Area. I also enjoy hiking."

Assisted Living Coordinator

"I am an Assisted Living Coordinator at Sunrise of Burlingame where I implement the care plan for each resident of the community, ensuring their well-being and safety. My goal is to make them feel at home with the help of our Care Managers on the team.

I also am committed to making sure that my Care Managers are recognized for all of their hard work and their dedication to serving the residents with the highest level of care.

There are many things I enjoy about working at Sunrise, such as getting to know the residents, their families and my co-workers. I feel like I am part of a big family, whereby I provide the care and support the residents need in the community. This gives me a sense of fulfillment and purpose, both professionally and personally."

"I have worked with Sunrise Senior Living since 2011. I'm blessed with the opportunity and training Sunrise has provided me. I previously worked as a care manger, concierge, bus driver, and life enrichment manager. With all the knowledge and experience I have gained, I am excited to be a part of the Sunrise team!

My favorite part about working for Sunrise Senior Living is being able to create pleasant days for my residents when they need it the most. Knowing that I can make a difference and validate their feelings to help meet their unmet needs is very fulfilling.

In my free time, I love to be out and about with friends and family. I like going to music festivals, baseball and football games, and anything that has to do with sightseeing. I also enjoy camping and being with Mother Nature. The majority of the time you can find me at the beach, with a nice bonfire and my toes in the sand."

Activities & Volunteer Coordinator

"I graduated from California State University of East Bay in June, 2017 with a Degree in Public Health and a minor in Hospitality and Tourism. My experience and passion to work with seniors stems from caring for family members, serving at my local community church, and taking on several leadership roles in the church ministry. I joined the Sunrise family in 2017 and began as a concierge and activities assistant.

My favorite part of my job is getting to know each of my residents. I am privileged to listen to their stories, celebrate their lives, and acknowledge the accomplishments they've achieved. Providing purposeful activities and programs that keep our residents challenged, excited, and inspired brings me joy.

What makes Sunrise of Burlingame a unique place is the dedicated and supportive team. I am extremely grateful and fortunate to be working alongside an amazing team that is ambitious and kind.

Outside of work, I start small projects of planning and designing special events. I am also a foodie who enjoys all the newest food and beverage hypes and trends. I enjoy traveling, cooking, and spending time with friends and family."

Michael Norman

Dining Services Coordinator

“I have worked in senior living since 2004. I graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Napa, California. I also have previous experience with Marriot Hotels and Sodexho Food Service. 

I enjoy being able to provide residents with a restaurant-style experience. My favorite part of working for Sunrise is providing customer service to our residents in our dining areas.

When I’m not at Sunrise, I enjoy surfing and spending time with my three children. I also am an active volunteer for the Veteran’s Administration helping veterans through transitional situations.”
