"I am an Assisted Living Coordinator at Sunrise of Burlingame where I implement the care plan for each resident of the community, ensuring their well-being and safety. My goal is to make them feel at home with the help of our Care Managers on the team.
I also am committed to making sure that my Care Managers are recognized for all of their hard work and their dedication to serving the residents with the highest level of care.
There are many things I enjoy about working at Sunrise, such as getting to know the residents, their families and my co-workers. I feel like I am part of a big family, whereby I provide the care and support the residents need in the community. This gives me a sense of fulfillment and purpose, both professionally and personally."
"In my years of professional experience working in the Assisted Living industry, I started out working as a server in the culinary department. After I transitioned to working in Activities and Life Enrichment, which was immensely rewarding to fill each day with beautiful moments, I then promoted to Memory Care Director.
I attended Ohlone College in Fremont, CA for Business Administration. I am a certified Dementia Practitioner and I have obtained my RCFE Administrator license.
What I enjoy most about my role is having the pleasure of helping others and making a difference in their daily lives. I was born and raised in San Francisco, am married, and have a blended family of three girls and one grand-daughter. My hobbies are going on scenic drives or excursions. I love to shop, fine dine, and listen to music."
"I have worked for Sunrise since 2016. Prior to this, I was helping our family in a small Board & Care home in Southern California, providing assistance with our seniors’ daily needs and creating fun activities for them as well. I have worked as a Lead Care Manager in our Sunrise Assisted Living Neighborhood before I was promoted as the Activities and Volunteer Coordinator.
What I truly love and enjoy about my job is that I am able to build that special connection and relationship with our residents, listening to their stories and achievements in life. Providing them the help they need, getting them more involved with activities and social events, and getting the warm hugs from them gives me happiness and a sense of fulfillment. Working here is the best choice I have made, and with Sunrise there’s room for growth and opportunity in the field of healthcare.
What I love to do with my family is to travel and visit the national parks, where we can hike and enjoy nature. In my spare time I love cooking, going to the beach, and painting."
"Walking into the community every morning, greeting our residents, putting a smile on their faces, and making a difference in their lives has been the highlight of my job since starting at Sunrise in 2011. It puts a warm and fuzzy feeling in my heart.
At Sunrise our team approach is phenomenal. We all work together to bring joy to our residents and team members. Our line of work can be challenging and through the years I have learned to embrace the following “Sunrise-isms” which has helped me become the person that I am today: Where we are today is one point in our journey through life; Think about the work that you do and take time to enjoy the moments that you share with your residents and teams; You make such a difference in people’s lives; and most of all, Take time to enjoy what you do!
I am originally from Fiji and it is in our culture to respect and serve other people with a smile from our hearts. Whenever I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, 3 children, families, and friends. I have a Degree in Accounting and I was a Program Accountant for 20 years in the European Union Sector before I joined Sunrise."
"I have worked in senior living since 2004. I graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Napa, California. I also have previous experience with Marriott Hotels and Sodexho Food Service.
I enjoy being able to provide residents with a restaurant-style experience. My favorite part of working for Sunrise is providing customer service to our residents in our dining areas.
When I'm not at Sunrise, I enjoy surfing and spending time with my three children. I also am an active volunteer for the Veteran’s Administration helping veterans through transitional situations."
"With a true passion for seniors, I made the life-fulfilling transition into Senior Living in 2019, after a long history in the hospitality industry as Director of Sales.
I love getting to know our residents and sharing a laugh with them. I especially love making friends with their furry family members!
The best part of working at Sunrise is being able to bring a sense of comfort and excitement to our residents and their families, knowing that they will be getting the best care to live their best life.
In my spare time, if I’m not traveling around the globe, you’ll find my nose in a book, enjoying the sun, volunteering at the animal shelter, or playing with my two rambunctious nieces!"
